It was after the summer holidays and very soon, everyone was going to start talking about the holidays and how flashy it went. And that was something Lana couldn't even participate in
Because she had no friends
And ..
Because she was tired of the school!!
She really was
And she never properly found her place in the school when everyone made the art of living a competition. She wasn't the type to wear a lot of makeup or take her phone to the school dancing to shoot a content video. The only thing Lana probably had hobbies for was watching horror movies.
She had an insane obsession with horror movies
"THEO!!!!" A male voice called out to a blonde guy walking into the class with a book on his hand, and a guy with a buzz cut ran to him "What did you do for the summer?"
"My dad took me to Hawaii for our aunt's wedding"
"Oh really, I went to-"
Lana wasn't listening to the conversation. She just kept staring
She's had like the biggest crush on Theo since the 10th grade started.
It all started from when she lost her pen and she needed a new one to sign her name on a school slip for a trip. It was a last minute situation and she didn't really see anyone that was willing to go through the stress of looking for a pen for her
Then Theo came along. Witth his bright, oblonge face and his bright smile. And there he handed her a pen.
Reason mostly was because he was after her to sign his name but then ... Lana did love acts of charity ....
"He probably doesn't even know I exist" she thought, then got up from her seat. After the holidays, valentine was the next day
But then she didn't have a Valentine
Not because she wasn't pretty, but because she wasn't popular.
Being in the school she was in was like being in a political system
Basically you have to be popular or influencial to get yourself around
Because people valued money more than brains and beauty
Including the teachers
After all it was a very influencial school
If your following didn't even enter 10k, then you probably weren't worthy enough to be spoken to in the school, that's how everything was .....
But Lana felt Theo wasn't like them.
He wasn't proud and snobbish even though he had so much money
He was kind, sweet and she had even seen him once feeding a stray cat and helping an old woman cross the road
"How cliché" she romantically said.
But Theo wasn't going to notice her anyways
And that was a harsh reality, no one was going to notice her
Because she was the girl on a scholarship.
The quiet girl with the plain brown hair who sat at the back of the class and went home as early as she could
The girl who joined all the school clubs but was always non existent in everything
Because she wasn't influencial or rich enough ...
Brains and beauty wasn't enough
Power and money could talk
She couldn't ....
......
And just like that, another boring day of school over. Nothing special happended, except for everyone in school already getting Valentines and she was still sulking over a blonde boy that didn't even know she existed .....
"Well damn it" She said, as she unlocked her house and went straight to her bed.
She jumped on it and hugged her plushie tightly
"Valentine's day is tomorrow" she felt her chest get heavy "Even if the heavens won't give me a boyfriend, at least give me a Valentine. Am I not pretty enough to get kissed once?"
"WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THIS??????????!!!!!!"
Then her eyes lit up and she turned around, directly lying on her tommy and looking at her plushie
"Maybe I should get Theo a gift" she stared hard at the plushie "But what if he rejects it in front of everyone?"
"That would be so humiliating"
Then she turned around again, this time hugging her plushie tight and looking at the ceiling "It wouldn't hurt to try, he might not refuse it. But then if he does, I'm totally done with the whole boy nonsense"
Then she turned back down, looking at her plushie again "Wish me luck momo" she said "I'm just going to have to dress extra cute tomorrow. I can't wait for tomorrow to come around"
"God please, let Theo magically fall in love with me tomorrow "
And the next day came too fast. Infact faster than she expected
"OH SHIT!!!!!!!" She swore as she jumped up from bed "I crashed off last night and I forgot to get a box of chocolate" . Immediately she ran to her bathroom and found herself getting dressed and she didn't even realize when she forgot her blazer and ran out to the streets
"Chocolate store, Chocolate store ..."
She looked around ahd everywhere, but every store she went to was either not opened yet or were out. Until she found herself running late but came across a very old shop that she swore was never there before. She had passed this road everyday and never had she seen that shop once. The shop looked extremely suspicious andwas quite dusty, but through the window, she could see a box of chocolate peeping out and that was exactly what she needed
She immediately went in and hurried towards the chocolate box
"What would you like to purchase today dear?"
"AHHHHHHHH" She screamed, then turned round to see a very short old lady with a walking stick and a crooked smile
"H..hi" She greeted nervously. She definitely didn't like the aura of the shop. It has skulls, dusts, and books around. Old utensils and some pastries too. And she could have sworn she was a human being' hand too. She picked up the chocolate and held it in front of her like she was on a defence mode "Is this the only box of chocolate you have?"
The woman kept smiling like something was amusing "Yes dear, Definitely the last one and the best", then she walked to the counter "let me guess, it's for your boyfriend ehhh?"
Lana blushed hard "uhh yes-NO! I mean No ... He's not my boyfriend but I do really like the guy"
Why was she telling her this?
"Well isn't that sweet?" The lady's smile grew wider "It's sure to make the guys fall in love with you." Then she looked sinister "One bite and they won't have enough"
Lana didn't like that
"Oh" she nervously laughed "Exactly what I want" then she immediately brought out her wallet "how much is it?"
"That would be 2 dollars" the lady's face went back to normal
Lana immediately paid and found herself running off
"Thank you" she politely said
"Come again next time" The lady said after her "if you would meet us"
........
Lana walked into the school compound and immediately they was a ruckus and a lot of screaming and fainting as three guys walked past all the girls and we're headed inside
"What the fuck?????" She thought
They were the three most popular guys in school. Max, Donney and Sam
And sadly, this was so cliché
"Ugh" she found herself vomiting in her mouth. Those jerks were just lucky to be born rich, all the had was the face of a superstar but the brains of a wastebin. She personally had nothing against them but they were way bigger snobs than everyone else, feeling like they were untop of the world and Lana prayed that she never had to cross paths with them
"What's the point of a boy with looks and no brains?"
Anyways, she found herself heading to the library, where Theo preferred to hang out early in the morning before classes started
"Did you hear?" A girl was whispering "I heard a lot of guys are going to refuse a lot of girls today"
"Like, someone bought a fountain of chocolate to school for Theo"
Did she just hear Theo??????
"That girl is delusional. Everyone knows Theo isn't into girls at the moment. He said he's not dating until after graduation"

That was the name the school gave those three because why not?
"-are gonna get asked out by a bunch of girls today. I cannot wait to capture all those rejected proposals. I'm so going to hit a million views tonight"
"Today is gonna be so fun" then they giggled and left
And Lana felt her face swear
She didn't wanna be a victim of disgrace
And definitely didn't want her face on social media at a state of being refused ....
And now she couldn't help but regret .....
