Chapter 312 - 312: Big Mom Accepts the Marriage

Under Marshall D. Teach's insistence, Edward Newgate finally agreed and named him as the candidate for the marriage alliance.

Once the decision was made, the Whitebeard Pirates acted quickly. A messenger was sent to Whole Cake Island carrying a letter, along with what Teach proudly considered his most handsome photo.

As the Second Division Commander, Teach's image had appeared in newspapers before, though the results were far from flattering. Given his appearance, even the most skilled photographer would struggle to capture a decent angle.

Meanwhile, Monkey D. Dragon remained aboard the Moby Dick to recover. During this period, he contacted Sabo and Karasu through Den Den Mushi, instructing them to prepare their forces and move toward Whitebeard's territory as support.

If the alliance with Big Mom succeeded, they could immediately proceed with a joint meeting.

...

Whole Cake Island.

Charlotte Perospero pushed open the gates of the Cake Castle, holding a large envelope.

"Mom, a messenger from the Whitebeard Pirates delivered this."

From within the shadows, Charlotte Linlin slowly lifted her massive head. Thick saliva dripped from the corner of her mouth, splashing onto the ground.

Perospero approached and respectfully presented the envelope with both hands.

A bright pink heart symbol stood out at the center.

Linlin paused briefly before taking it. She opened the envelope and pulled out the letter.

As she began reading, a photograph slipped out and fell to the ground.

Perospero bent down to pick it up. The moment he saw it, his expression twisted, his lips twitching uncontrollably.

The image showed Teach in profile, carefully angled to hide the fullness of his face. One arm was flexed, displaying an exaggerated bicep.

Linlin noticed his reaction and frowned.

"Perospero, who is that?"

"It is Marshall D. Teach, the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates."

"I remember him."

Linlin nodded and returned her attention to the letter. The handwriting was familiar, unmistakably Newgate's from their time on the same ship.

After finishing, her lips slowly curled upward before she burst into loud laughter.

"Mamama, how amusing. Newgate actually wants his son to marry my daughter."

Perospero's eyes widened slightly. He glanced again at the photo in his hand, suppressing his discomfort.

"The one getting married is not this man, right?"

Linlin laughed again, clearly pleased.

"It is him. I barely remember his face, let me see it."

Perospero handed over the photo.

She looked at it, her brows twitching.

"This man is that ugly?"

Perospero nodded without hesitation.

But Linlin only laughed harder.

"Mamama, good. The uglier he is, the better. Otherwise it would be too easy for her."

She lowered her gaze toward Perospero.

"Go and inform Charlotte Chiffon. She will marry this Teach. If she refuses, execute her."

"Chiffon?"

Perospero blinked, then quickly understood.

Chiffon, the twenty-second daughter, had long fallen out of Linlin's favor after ruining her plan to form ties with the Giants. This decision was clearly intentional.

When it came to appearance, however, the match was strangely balanced. Chiffon herself had a rugged face that many described as masculine.

Linlin's expression turned impatient.

"Why are you still here? Go."

Startled, Perospero apologized quickly and rushed out of the castle.

Left alone in the grand hall, Linlin looked at Newgate's letter again, a calculating smile forming.

"Mamama, you finally made a move, Newgate. That saves me the trouble."

...

Not long after, the Whitebeard Pirates received a reply.

Upon learning that Linlin had agreed, Newgate remained composed, but Dragon's reaction was far more animated, as if he were the one getting married.

Along with the reply came a photograph of Charlotte Chiffon.

When they saw it, both Newgate and Dragon fell silent.

Newgate handed the photo to Teach, who had been eagerly trying to catch a glimpse.

The moment Teach saw it, he nearly blurted out a question, but stopped himself at the last second.

Around him, Marco and the others wore complicated expressions.

Thatch stepped forward and patted Teach heavily on the shoulder.

Even so, Teach's composure was remarkable. He quickly adjusted his mindset.

Under everyone's gaze, he grinned widely.

"Zehahaha, quite a distinctive look. Not bad at all."

Then, without hesitation, he leaned down and planted a loud kiss on the photo, leaving it covered in saliva.

...

The deck fell silent.

Even Newgate stared at him in disbelief before finally asking,

"Teach, are you certain about this? You are going to marry Charlotte Chiffon."

Teach nodded firmly.

"Yes, Old Man. I am already looking forward to the wedding."

Seeing his unwavering stance, Newgate said nothing further.

In truth, he had considered negotiating again with Linlin, perhaps exchanging Chiffon for another daughter with a more presentable appearance. In his eyes, Teach volunteering was already a major sacrifice.

If Teach had known this, he might have regretted acting so quickly, since his tastes were still very much ordinary.

...

Marine Headquarters, Marineford.

Inside the Fleet Admiral's office, a Den Den Mushi rang.

"Pururururu..."

Lloyd raised his hand and answered.

A soft and charming female voice came through.

"Master, Stussy has important information to report to you."

Lloyd's expression remained indifferent as a faint smile appeared.

"Oh? Speak."

"The Big Mom Pirates have sent out wedding invitations. The couple is Charlotte Chiffon and Marshall D. Teach of the Whitebeard Pirates."
