Donald carried the jar back to his room to put it away, then quickly came out again and personally helped her refuel the car.
Without his help, Mary knew it would have been difficult. The refueling setup here was still very old-fashioned, and she was worried she might not manage it properly on her own. She silently decided that next time she would ask Ryan to help her take a look and see if it could be adjusted.
Once the tank was full, Mary thanked Donald, waved goodbye, and drove straight toward Thomas's place.
