Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 Chen Hai Begins Speedrun, One-Click Sweep of Fujimi High School!

Rei Miyamoto and Saya Takagi breathed a sigh of relief.

If Chen Hai and his group hadn't appeared in time, the two of them might have used ropes made from curtains to escape the multimedia classroom, and then... they would most likely have ended up like those other students, caught, eaten, and assimilated by the Corpses on the mountain behind the school.

However, after the Corpse threat disappeared, the two girls began to wonder about Chen Hai and Asuna's identities.

The Corpse outbreak was so sudden, why were the two of them so unusually calm?

Because they were powerful?

Then where did this power come from?

Rei Miyamoto stared at Chen Hai with curious eyes.

Noticing the girl's gaze, Chen Hai asked with a smile,

"Is there something on my face?"

"No, nothing... It's just that Saeko-senpai told us that Mr. Chen Hai just incinerated the Corpses with flames, and I'm quite curious how you did it."

"It's very simple, just aim at the enemy and use your ability."

This answer left Rei Miyamoto a bit bewildered.

After all, the steps Chen Hai described were as abstract as 'open the refrigerator, put in an elephant, close the refrigerator.'

Especially the term 'ability' was puzzling.

"Excuse me, Mr. Chen Hai, what is your 'ability'? Is it with flames? Like a flamethrower?"

Saya Takagi looked at the hallway but didn't find any scorched marks.

But besides using a flamethrower, she really couldn't think of any other way to incinerate those Corpses.

It couldn't be magic, could it?

The moment Saya Takagi thought of this question, Chen Hai raised his right hand, and the flames that lit up on his fingertips flickered with an orange glow in the hallway.

"Eh? Fire magic?"

Rei Miyamoto had seen it on TV.

However, she thought it was just something similar to a magic trick.

Because magic tricks are essentially props and techniques, not real magic, how could they be used against those beast-like Corpses?

"How exactly did he do that..."

Saya Takagi moved closer, staring at the flames.

Under normal circumstances, flames lighting up on fingertips wouldn't be surprising, but when combined with the 'elimination of Corpses,' the flames Chen Hai controlled were definitely not simple.

Before Saya Takagi could observe more closely, the roar of Corpses once again came from the playground outside the teaching building.

These unconscious monsters were still scattered throughout the school grounds.

Some were on the mountain behind the school, many of them students who had escaped only to be caught; eighty percent or more of the Corpses were gathered at the main gate, some attracted by the commotion in the school, others teachers and students who had failed to escape.

Facing this terrifying low growl, Rei Miyamoto looked at Chen Hai uneasily,

"What should we do next? Should we escape from the mountain behind the school? I see the fewest Corpses there."

"I think so too; it's better to quietly leave from the back rather than face that group of monsters at the main gate."

Saya Takagi strongly agreed.

Saeko Busujima on the side had no objections.

Her original plan was to go to the mountain behind the school and escape from the small path there, avoiding the main road.

"There's another way."

Asuna suddenly spoke up at this moment.

"Just eliminate them all."

"No, no, no, that's impossible."

Saya Takagi was the first to reject Asuna's plan.

She cautiously walked to the window, staring at the main gate area.

The number of Corpses had long since exploded, densely wandering everywhere; once surrounded, there was only a dead end.

"Does Miss Asuna have a plan to wipe out all these monsters?"

Rei Miyamoto didn't object but wanted to know the details.

Asuna raised the sword in her right hand.

"One sword is enough."

Indeed, it was enough.

Asuna possessed the strength to explore the deep levels of a Dungeon.

And these Corpses were probably not even as strong as Goblins, lacking the latter's agility and teamwork; they were like mad targets, posing no threat.

"There are so many, can you really cut them all down?"

When Saeko Busujima first clashed with Asuna, she knew she was absolutely no match for her, but wanting to completely eliminate the Corpses at the main gate still seemed too reckless.

"Ten seconds will be enough, Asuna, you don't need to make a move."

"Is Mr. Chen Hai going to take responsibility for dealing with those monsters?"

"Yes, there's not much difficulty here anyway, so a speedrun will be fine."

As for the plan to occupy this place, Chen Hai considered having Adventurers come to this world to explore, thereby conquering other regions and turning the entire small Japanese island into his 'experience production ground.'

But that was for later.

After Chen Hai finished speaking, he walked to the window.

Chen Hai simply waved his right hand, and a ball of flame flew from his hand.

The ball of flame instantly burst through the window, soaring into the sky!

At a height of a hundred meters, it suddenly exploded.

In an instant, the ball of flame transformed into countless sparks, scattering like a celestial maiden showering flowers upon the earth.

Each spark trailed a long fiery tail, like a meteor shower descending!

But these 'meteors' were not gentle points of light, but messengers of destruction!

The first wave of fire rain accurately struck the main gate area.

Dozens of Corpses had just looked up when they were pierced through the head by scorching fireballs, instantly turning to ashes.

The second wave of fire rain fell over the playground.

The sparks split again in mid-air, turning into countless tiny fire snakes, falling as densely as raindrops; each drop of fire rain that hit the ground erupted into a five-meter radius blast of flames, engulfing all the surrounding Corpses.

The third wave of fire rain directly targeted various parts of the school building.

Those Corpses climbing on windowsills and corridors, before they could react, were struck by fire meteors descending from the sky, eventually dissipating in the light.

What shocked the girls even more was that Chen Hai's flames were not indiscriminate attacks.

Every spark seemed to possess consciousness, precisely locking onto every moving target.

Even a Corpse hiding in a corner would be pursued to death by a tiny fire meteor until it completely turned to dust.

The entire process took no more than ten seconds.

After ten seconds, the campus fell into a deathly silence.

No wailing, no footsteps, no 'thump-thump' knocking on doors.

Only the smell of charring permeated the air.

The playground was empty, the school building was empty, the main gate was empty.

All Corpses, no matter their number or where they hid, were utterly annihilated.

It was as if that tide of death had never existed.

He turned around, his expression indifferent, as if nothing had happened.

But the three people in the hallway—Rei Miyamoto, Saya Takagi, and Saeko Busujima—were completely stunned.

Rei Miyamoto's hand was tightly covering her mouth, her eyes full of shock.

Saya Takagi wore a half-smile, feeling as if it were all a dream.

And Saeko Busujima, the usually calm and decisive girl, now had her sword trembling slightly in her hand.

"Is this Mr. Chen Hai's true power...?"

It was like pressing a clear button, emptying out the Corpses with a single click.

"Alright, what do you plan to do next? Escape from here, head to the streets outside the school building that are filled with Corpses?"

At Chen Hai's question, the three girls immediately fell into contemplation.

With the outbreak of the Corpse crisis, not a single soldier was seen, nor were police forces deployed.

It was clear that any forces capable of repelling the Corpses were likely affected and preoccupied.

"Ah!"

Rei Miyamoto snapped back to reality.

"If possible, can I go to the broadcast room? Use the broadcast there to notify survivors, maybe people will gather!"

"Yes, I agree."

Hearing this, Chen Hai scanned the scene.

He realized one person was missing... Shizuka Marikawa was not there.

Therefore, Chen Hai suggested,

"No need to go to the broadcast room, there's one survivor left in the school building."

"Only one? And why is Mr. Chen Hai so sure!"

Chen Hai, questioned by Saya Takagi, looked out the window.

"The flames I just released 'told' me."

As for the next destination—

"The infirmary of this school. The last survivor is there."

Her name is Shizuka Marikawa, the well-endowed Teacher Marikawa.
