After dinner that's where the ball really picks up. Most of the guests haven't arrived yet. They should be arriving within the hour. That doesn't stop the guest and pack mates who are here from having a good time. Some are already drunk. Shifters don't drink like humans. Our body temperature is warmer so we burn through the liquor quicker. We barely feel a buz. Shifters get their booze from witches.They do some witchy mambo jumbo to it that give shifters the ability to get drunk, we have a good time they make a profit. It's a win-win in my book. Anyhow the dining hall which has been converted into the ball room has been decorated in light rose pink and tan colors. Not horrible, it's actually quite beautiful. The decorators used quicksand flowers and different shades of baptism flowers that hang from every window, doorway and chandelier. Giving the illusion its raining tan and light rose pink flowers. It's absolutely stunning. Too bad it's being wasted on someone rotten.

As the night goes on, I stand by a corner watching Cam have the time of her life, dancing with different males who catch her eye. Goddess I'm going to miss her, Dirge, and the pack hospital. I take a deep breath. This is for the best Sam. You cannot go to the Heaculean Pack with the she-devil. To be her what? Slave? I shudder.
The ball room is packed with people outside in the front and back lawn. No word from the Wolf King as of yet. Seraphina has been the center of attention per usual, All the Alpahs giving our Alpha their congrats on having such a beautiful daughter.

A few minutes later a rowdy looking male comes up to me. He looks completely disheveled, a complete mess. Struggling as he walks towards me, oh he's drunk. Lucky me.
"Hey there beautiful"
"Uh Hi." I say while taking a step back. Gosh he smells. I resist the urge to cover my nose.
"Oh don't be like that sweet thing," He's slurring his words, can barely make a sentence "I came over to see if you wanted to dance. Maybe a little bit in private?" He takes a step forward invading my personal space.
"Uh no." I put my hand on his chest to push him away, I can smell his breath. He's so close to me. He grabs my hands and drags me to him. I didn't even know what was happening until it was too late, he had leaned down and kissed me! I tried to push him off me but with him holding my hand and pressing me with his body weight, I was useless. I turned my head to the side trying to get away from his face. "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU CREEP!" I yelled. I might have whispered how loud the music was. At this point I'm thrashing in his grip trying to get leverage to push him off.
"Oh sweet thing don't fight, it makes me hornier." I'm going to literally barf. No, I think I just did, a little in my mouth. "Anyways, why not give me a taste, we are to be mated."
My stomach dropped. What did he say? What the fuck did he just say? Mated?
"Oh see Daddy! She wouldn't be angry at all! She looks like she is having fun!" A voice sounded behind the perv man. I would usually be happy for whoever is saving me from this perv but that voice, and what she just said. I pushed the man off as quickly as I could as soon as I saw an opening.
"Get off me you perv!" I screamed.
"Oh don't act like we didn't just see you enjoying your future mate Samantha." Seraphina cooed.
"Enjoy! He was forcing himself on me! And who's mate? I have no mate! What the hell are you talking about." I almost yelled at her. My face was red. Perv man was standing slightly next to Seraphina. And the Alpha and Luna were right behind the birthday girl giving me placating smiles.
"Well Darling, when you move with Seraphina to the Herculean pack you will be mated with Gregory here." Luna Vasti is the one to point to perv man. I don't bother him with a glance. My blood is boiling, Emma is growling so loudly I can't barely hear my own thoughts. I'm about to retort, saying that I'm not going anywhere with no one when the Alpha interferes.
"Sam, We are honoring your parents by making sure you have a future. A stable future. This way you will be taken care of and we will know you will not be able to….." he pauses thinking of the right word but it's Seraphina who finishes for him.
"Runaway." She says with an evil smile.
I'm trying not to cry. I'm so furious. Honoring my parents!? A stable future? I HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE! I can get a job anywhere. Any pack, any human hospital. No this is about control, this is about Seraphina having control over ... me. They walk away with smiles as if they were doing me a favor. Perv guy who apparently is Gregeory says "Too bad I can't taste you now. I guess waiting will make it worth my while." Before he walks away too.
I need to leave. I need to leave now.
