Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Everything is already predetermined, my brother will help you

After The Cannibal left, Aegon gestured to Helaena on Dreamfyre's back to follow him.

Sunfyre flew first towards Dragonstone, with Dreamfyre following closely behind.

Soon, the three people and two dragons arrived at Dragonstone.

Dreamfyre naturally crawled into the Dragonpit on Dragonmount, while Sunfyre lay resting at the entrance of the Dragonpit.

"Helaena, why are you here?"

Helaena threw herself into Aegon's arms, muttering softly, "I saw it, the black shadow above the clouds."

Hearing this, Aegon raised an eyebrow.

He hadn't expected Helaena to be able to foresee him being chased by The Cannibal and even ride Dreamfyre to come help him.

Helaena didn't like riding dragons into battle, yet she rode a dragon to fight The Cannibal for him; it was hard for Aegon not to be moved.

He cupped Helaena's little face, gave her a big kiss on the forehead.

"Thank you, Helaena!"

Helaena's eyes curved into crescents, looking very happy, while only Aemond nearby pursed his lips unhappily.

If he also had a large dragon, he would definitely tear that damned black dragon to shreds!

"Prince Aegon, Prince Aemond, Princess Helaena, welcome. Do you need carriages arranged?"

As the three little ones spoke, a Dragon Guard walked over, greeting them very respectfully and not forgetting to bow.

"You go arrange the carriages first. Is Silverwing inside the Dragonpit?" Aegon asked.

"Yes, except for foraging, it rarely steps out of the Dragonpit. Is it Prince Aemond...?"

"That's right."

Hearing this, the Dragon Guard's face showed a look of difficulty.

In 54 AC, Princess Aerea rode Balerion and then disappeared for over a year. When she returned, she was close to death and later died despite treatment.

Since then, the Dragon Guard was formed, and without the King's permission, any Targaryen bloodline is forbidden from taming dragons privately!

"I've spoken to my father, don't worry. Please arrange for a few Dragon Guards to accompany us."

"Alright, I will arrange for five experienced Dragon Guards to go with you. Please be very careful!"

Afterwards, Helaena was left outside, while Aegon, Aemond, and the Dragon Guards walked towards the depths of the Dragonpit.

Soon, the group arrived in front of Silverwing's lair.

The Dragon Guards called out a few times, and Silverwing crawled out of her lair, her eyes full of confusion.

Silverwing was absolutely the most docile female dragon in the history of House Targaryen; even when called out, she showed no impatience.

"She is a gentle 'lady', the complete opposite of Vermithor," a Dragon Guard said.

Aegon slowly extended his right hand, slowly approaching Silverwing.

"Silverwing, good girl!"

Hearing the pure Valyria language, although Silverwing sensed the other party had a dragon, she still obediently lowered her head, allowing the other's hand to stroke her snout.

"Good girl!" After praising her again, Aegon winked at Aemond.

Aemond took a deep breath. After Aegon stepped back, he slowly walked forward, wanting to stroke Silverwing using Aegon's method.

Unexpectedly, just as Aemond was about to touch Silverwing, Silverwing suddenly let out a low growl and turned back into her lair, scaring Aemond so much that he fell.

"Be careful, Prince," the Dragon Guard quickly stepped forward and helped Aemond up.

Aegon, standing beside him, frowned tightly; this really shouldn't have happened!

He had a premonition that if he didn't have Sunfyre, he would have tamed Silverwing just now.

But why did Silverwing refuse Aemond?

Aemond lowered his head, tears streaming down his face in distress; he had disappointed his brother.

"I'm sorry, brother, I'm sorry!"

Aemond was both sad and guilty.

Aegon not only brought him to Dragonstone but also personally demonstrated how to tame a dragon for him, even encountering an attack along the way.

Even Helaena rode a dragon to help them drive away The Cannibal.

But in the end, he still couldn't tame Silverwing.

Aegon came back to his senses, looked at Aemond shedding little pearls (tears), and couldn't help but find it amusing.

"Don't cry, you are my brother, just as excellent as me, you will definitely have a dragon.

Even without a dragon, I can protect you for a lifetime.

And skills like swordsmanship, horsemanship, spearmanship, and leadership techniques are all abilities you can strengthen through effort later!"

Stepping forward and patting Aemond's shoulder, Aegon smiled, "Don't cry, cheer up, you're not Helaena."

Finally, Aemond composed himself and followed Aegon out of the Dragonpit.

After seeing Helaena, Aemond was downcast.

"I'm sorry, sister, I failed."

Helaena tilted her head, looked at her crying brother, and finally chose to step forward and hug Aemond.

"Don't worry, everything is already fated. You don't need to turn a blind eye, brother will help you," Helaena comforted Aemond softly.

Aemond didn't know what Helaena meant, nor did he know why he needed to turn a blind eye, but he still thanked Helaena.

Aegon was listening nearby, his eyes slightly narrowed. Aemond didn't know what Helaena meant, but he did!

In the original novel, after taming Vhagar, Aemond was cornered by Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey when returning to the castle and ultimately lost his right eye.

Of course, Aegon wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.

"Alright, regardless of the outcome, you two go to the Stone Drum Tower first. You can play in Aegon's Garden, I still have things to do."

Aegon's words were not a discussion, but a notification.

"Thank you two for your trouble, escort the Prince and Princess to the Stone Drum Tower," he said to the Dragon Guard beside him.

"Understood."

After Helaena and Aemond left, Aegon had a thought, and Sunfyre, who was not far away, immediately crawled over.

Riding Sunfyre, Aegon flew towards the fishing village on Dragonstone.
