Dragonpit.
Unlike the Dragonpit built on Rhaenys's Hill in King's Landing, the Dragonpit was more like an enlarged cowshed.
Vhagar's massive body blocked the entrance to the Dragonpit, snoring like thunder.
Sheepstealer was also sound asleep.
But it wasn't sleeping inside the Dragonpit; instead, it lay to Vhagar's left.
Now, when it slept, it no longer had to worry about external dangers; that damned black-scaled dragon didn't even dare to approach!
Inside the Dragonpit, Sunfyre and Dreamfyre cuddled together.
Tessarion, like her rider, would occasionally sneakily nip Sunfyre's tail.
Don't ask why it only bit Sunfyre's tail.
The answer is that Sunfyre was the smartest and gentlest.
Just as Aegon was very tolerant of Daeron, Sunfyre was also very accommodating towards Tessarion.
Vhagar had the most volatile temper, and Dreamfyre's temper, following Vhagar, was also very volatile.
As for Sheepstealer, well... it wasn't familiar with her, so it didn't dare to provoke her!
Aegon began to introduce them one by one.
"The largest dragon outside is named Vhagar, and she is my brother Aemond's mount.
The two dragons cuddling inside are mine and Helena's.
The golden one is called Sunfyre, my dragon, and the light blue one is called Dreamfyre, Helena's dragon.
Finally, the dragon that looks like it's sneakily biting the golden dragon's tail is called Tessarion, and it is my youngest brother Daeron's dragon."
Skaði stared blankly at the five dragons before her, the shock in her heart evident.
Actually, it wasn't that she hadn't seen these dragons; she had seen all five of them.
But she had never seen five giant dragons lying coiled at such close proximity before; it was like four small, standing hills.
Especially the outermost giant dragon named Vhagar.
Its massive body brought an extreme sense of oppression that made her legs tremble.
However, thinking of the delicious food Aegon had let her eat, Skaði still mustered her courage.
"Can I observe these... true dragons up close?" Skaði swallowed.
"Yes, close observation can capture more details. Hugh, you go soothe Sheepstealer; leave the rest to me."
Hugh nodded and walked towards Sheepstealer.
Aegon, meanwhile, walked towards the mountain-like Vhagar.
The sleeping Vhagar quickly noticed Aegon approaching, and her cold dragon eyes opened. After seeing it was Aegon, she clearly paused.
"Vhagar, calm down, calm down."
Aegon stepped forward and gently extended his hand.
Seeing that Vhagar showed no signs of rejection, Aegon slowly placed his hand on Vhagar's nose.
Under Vhagar's puzzled gaze, Aegon motioned for Skaði to slowly approach.
As Skaði drew closer, the confusion in Vhagar's eyes deepened.
"Let her see your power, don't be impulsive, calm down, Vhagar, relax."
Aegon softly comforted Vhagar as Skaði slowly approached, her eyes fixed on every detail of Vhagar.
A moment later, Skaði nodded to Aegon.
Aegon led Skaði further inside, while Vhagar, utterly bewildered, simply went back to sleep.
Inside the Dragonpit, Sunfyre, Dreamfyre, and Tessarion were much easier to handle.
"Sunfyre, come quickly and let someone admire your magnificent posture."
Sunfyre: "???"
Standing before Sunfyre, Aegon was much more relaxed.
Sunfyre also didn't need soothing; rather than Skaði observing Sunfyre, it was more like Sunfyre observing Skaði.
"Sunfyre, the most magnificent giant dragon in Westeros and indeed the entire world, I am proud of it."
Aegon smiled as he introduced Sunfyre to Skaði, his face full of pride and joy.
Hearing Aegon praise it, Sunfyre confidently lifted its upper body, displaying its perfect, majestic form before everyone.
However, Skaði wasn't attracted yet; Dreamfyre and Tessarion were captivated first.
Dreamfyre got up and affectionately rubbed against Sunfyre, like a clingy kitten.
Tessarion also wanted to approach Sunfyre but was driven away by Dreamfyre's low growl.
"Four dragons, four Valyrian steel bastard swords. If you can satisfy me, I will reward you handsomely."
"Please, Your... Highness, rest assured. The reason I am alive today is because my craftsmanship has always satisfied my previous masters!"
"Very good, then I look forward to it. Ask for anything you need. Also, I have some dragon bones, and I want to forge a batch of dragonbone bows."
"No problem." Skaði nodded.
"Uh, I have one more request, Skaði, would you be willing to be a teacher?"
"A teacher?" Skaði looked bewildered and quickly waved her hand in refusal.
"I'm very foolish, how can I be a teacher?"
"You are merely a bit slow, not foolish, Skaði. I want you to be a teacher and train a group of excellent craftsmen for me."
Skaði was still a bit hesitant; she was used to obeying, but could she really do well as a teacher?
Seeing Skaði's indecision, Aegon prepared to show some "sincerity."
He quickly stepped forward, took Skaði's hand, and spoke with sincere earnestness.
"I need you, Skaði!"
"No one can replace you, Skaði. I can't find another. You are so excellent, so unique. I truly need you!"
Skaði froze. She had never experienced the feeling of being needed, nor the feeling of being praised.
Her previous masters would only call her a freak, whip her, supervise her, and make her forge exquisite tools day and night.
If not for inheriting her father's craftsmanship, she would have been beaten to death long ago.
When was the last time she was praised?
It seemed like when she was five, or six?
She couldn't remember.
But when she was a child, she was called a freak by others, and her father had also encouraged her, saying she was the unique Skaði!
Somehow, Skaði felt a warmth in her eyes, and tears instantly welled up.
Unlike Skaði, who was moved to tears.
Aegon, seeing Skaði suddenly cry, was momentarily caught in a brainstorm.
"Damn, why is she crying? Is my method of winning people over wrong?" Aegon thought to himself.
Just then, Skaði suddenly stepped forward and hugged Aegon, bursting into tears.
Terrifying strength instantly enveloped Aegon's entire body, and a sense of suffocation washed over him.
Aegon felt like he was about to explode!
In that moment of crisis, Aegon immediately entered Dragon Spirit state, controlling the scale-flaring Sunfyre to use the bone spurs on its forelimb ends to separate himself and Skaði.
"—!"
Aegon lay on the ground, gasping for fresh air.
In that instant, he felt as if he had seen his great-grandmother Alysanne waving to him.
Skaði, sitting on the ground with a thud, was bewildered and then panicked.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I just, I just…",
In her panic, Skaði's tears flowed continuously, but she didn't know how to explain.
Aegon lowered his head and raised his hand, signaling Skaði not to panic.
"I'm fine, I'm fine—"
After a while, Aegon stood up and approached Skaði, waving his hand.
"What are you standing there for? Get up! I'm fine, are you okay?"
Aegon was utterly helpless. He never expected that his first brush with death would be under such circumstances.
He had been careless and was almost hugged to death by a "big, foolish girl"!
