Chapter 15: The Awakening of the King's Will
After the great battle in the Elf City, the city fell into a sad silence. Volt sat on the top of a tall tower, looking at his hands that still bore traces of that dark golden energy. He knew that if he didn't learn control, he might endanger his comrades in the next war.
The holy coach
Queen Alessia took Volt into the depths of the "Evergreen Garden", a place where time seemed to stand still.
Queen Alessia: "Volt, your power is like the ocean. If unhindered, it will drown everything. Kingdom is not only the power to destroy, but the will to protect. Lay your hand on this sacred tree."
Volt put his hand on the tree. Suddenly, all the pain and cries of 9,000 years ago echoed in his mind. His body began to shake.
The struggle with the heart
In his mind, Volt was confronted with an image of himself, but a terrifying and angry one; "King of the Monsters".
Inner King: "Why bother with control? Just let me burn the whole world, and no one can hurt you anymore!"
Volt: "No! I don't want to burn the world. I want to have lunch with Sai and Aki! I want to be the one they trust!"
With his simple but strong will, Volt was able to turn that terrifying black energy into a calm golden ray. In the real world, the sacred tree began to shine and its leaves grew larger. Volt learned to concentrate his energy inside his "heart" rather than his muscles.
The watchful eyes of Sai and Sakuna
Sai watched from a distance. Sakuna said inside, sounding solemn and slightly dangerous.
"Sai… look at him. Our king is about to awaken. He's no longer the stupid kid who just put his chest to the sword. If he learns control, Lucifer will have nothing left for him… but remember, the stronger he gets, the heavier the seal around your neck."
Sai just tightened his hand and said, "It's okay. If he becomes the king the world needs, I'll be the shadow that never lets him fall.
End of the chapter: The first real weapon
At the end of the training, Queen Alessia presented Volt with an ancient sword made in the shade of the sacred tree. When Volt touched it, the sword had no weight.
Volt: "I feel like this sword is part of my hand..."
Queen: "That's the Will Weapon. Now it's time to head to the 'Continent of the Dead,' a place where Lucifer awaits you
