Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Freedom Is Not Always Survival

Some things demand that we take the initiative ourselves. If we rely only on time, situations may spiral beyond control. Learn to turn your fear into your strength.

Siya's scream brought the entire world to a halt.

Just before the leader's strike could land, Siya saved Ali. Perhaps the leader had mistaken her for weak—but now, the version of Siya standing before him was one that would not only take his life, but ensure his death was merciless.

As time returned to normal, Siya snarled at him,

"You are rotten flesh fused with metal—and you dare harm my people? Evil always strikes from the shadows, from behind. But today, you won't even see your own death through those eyes of yours."

With a single, brutal strike, she tore out his eyes. One by one, she ripped apart every metal component embedded in his body. Siya was consumed by rage.

Elsewhere, Andy continued his desperate attempts to create the medicine, but failure clung to him relentlessly. Taking a deep breath, he focused again—forcing himself to persist.

Siya realized then that ending this war would take more than killing a single leader.

Ali stepped closer and said, "Boss, we'll have to use our powers more aggressively. They've been made far stronger than we expected. Tear them apart completely."

Siya replied coldly, "They're not like some regenerating demon—these won't reassemble. Once destroyed, the metal dies with them."

Ali tried to calm her, but Siya, blinded by fury, continued attacking without mercy. She slaughtered them relentlessly. Only one phrase echoed on her lips:

"You killed my people. Now you will all die."

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble. A thunderous sound echoed through the air. When they looked up, a horrifying sight awaited them—a massive, two-headed mutant stood before them.

This creature wasn't merely a victim of a deadly virus; it was the result of countless experiments and chemical abuse. Pieces of its decaying body fell to the ground—each fragment massive enough to crush a human.

Its countless eyes locked onto Siya.

Without hesitation, it lifted her, as if to devour her.

Ali rushed forward to strike, but Siya raised her hand, stopping him.

Killing the mutant would have been effortless for her—but she didn't move.

The creature brought her close to its face, studying her carefully. Siya placed her hand gently on its head.

It remained calm.

She reached into its inner mind—and what she discovered shook her to the core.

This body did not belong to one being alone—it carried the consciousness of both a human and an animal. The reason it hadn't attacked blindly was because of their memories.

The human used in the experiments had once had a small daughter. Those tender memories still lived on. The animal, too, carried memories of its own offspring. Against all logic—despite their brains having been declared dead—their shared willpower was still sending signals to the body.

Siya was stunned.

This meant mutants could think. Could understand.

And if they could be made to understand, perhaps they wouldn't hurt anyone at all.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, she heard words echo softly within her ears:

"Release us… set us free."

Siya understood.

They wanted liberation.

She didn't question their decision—because she felt their pain, their suffering, their endless torment.

The mutant gently placed her back on the ground and closed its eyes. Even in its final moments, both souls were thinking of their children.

Siya's strike freed them.

She felt a heavy sadness settle within her. How joyful that family must once have been… and what horrors had been inflicted upon them.

Her rage erupted once more.

A heart-rending roar shattered the air, and in a single instant, every Screever in the vicinity was reduced to dust.

This was Siya's most terrifying form—where regret, rage, and compassion collided.

She collapsed to the ground, breaking down, as though blaming herself for everything that had happened—for the cruel fate she had just ended.

And then—

Andy's voice cut through the silence.

"Siya…"
