When truth grows heavier than the soul can bear… even the sweetest lies lose their power to comfort.
Gurudev knew this.
The moment he revealed everything to Maan, he was already aware of the consequences that would follow. Truth does not heal instantly—it fractures, it shakes, it demands time. And so, he asked Maan to remain within the Shiva temple… alone.
He took Andy and me along with him.
I couldn't hold back my question.
"Why did you leave him alone in the temple, Gurudev?"
He didn't answer immediately. His gaze was distant, as if he could already see the storm unfolding inside Maan.
Then he spoke, calmly—
"Sometimes… to swallow the bitterness of truth, one needs both time… and endurance."
He paused before continuing.
"Maan has only begun to uncover one fragment of his reality. There are far greater truths tied to his existence… truths that will shake him even more. For that, his mind must find stillness. The temple will protect him—from the darkness within… and from what may try to reach him."
---
Inside the temple, Maan stood in silence.
Still. Motionless.
As if the weight of truth had frozen him in time.
He looked at the idol of Mahadev… his eyes trembling, yet searching.
"Mahadev…" his voice cracked, barely a whisper,
"Were my sins so great… that I was cursed to suffer not just one… but two lifetimes?"
The question echoed into the silence.
And then—
He felt it.
A touch.
Soft. Familiar.
His body stiffened. Slowly, he turned back.
No…
It couldn't be.
His eyes flickered with disbelief.
"This must be my mind playing tricks…" he murmured to himself, his voice unsteady.
"Your memory… it just makes me feel like you're always around me…"
He swallowed, forcing a faint smile through his pain.
"See, sister… even now… it feels like you're standing right in front of me…"
And she was.
Siya stood there… smiling.
Not as a memory. Not as an illusion.
Real.
"If you think I'm just a dream…" she said softly,
"then touch me, Maan."
His breath hitched.
With trembling hands, he reached out.
The moment his fingers met her—
Everything shattered.
"Siya…!"
He pulled her into a tight embrace, breaking down completely. His body shook as years of pain poured out all at once.
"Do you even know what happened to me after you left?" he cried, his voice raw.
"Why did you leave me? Why did you go away…?"
Siya gently placed her hand on his face, wiping his tears with a calm that felt almost otherworldly.
"Maan… you don't need me anymore."
Her voice was soft—but firm.
"You are capable. Strong enough to protect yourself. The first day we met… you proved that."
She held his gaze.
"You are enough."
Maan shook his head, unable to accept it.
"No… from the moment I met you… when you stood by me… protected me… I started seeing you as my family."
His voice trembled.
"You filled a void in my life… a void I didn't even understand. And when you left…"
He paused, his breath breaking.
"It felt like I lost my family all over again."
Tears streamed down his face.
"I was never loved by my own mother… not truly. And now… even in this life… I lost you too."
Before he could fall deeper into that darkness—
Siya grabbed his shoulders and shook him.
"Enough, Maan!"
Her voice cut through him.
"This is not the time to curse your life!"
Her eyes burned with intensity now.
"You called me your family… then listen to me as your mother."
Maan froze.
"You must become stronger. So strong… that nothing in this world can ever break you again."
She stepped closer.
"Your journey is far from over. There are responsibilities waiting for you… paths only you can walk."
Her voice softened again.
"Rishi Kripacharya is your Guru. Follow his guidance. Walk the path he shows you."
Maan's eyes widened.
Then he whispered—
"Mother…?"
The word slipped out unconsciously.
And it broke something inside him.
"If you saw me as your son… then why did you leave me too…? Why does everyone leave me…?"
For a moment—
Silence.
Then Siya smiled gently.
"I didn't leave you, Maan."
"I stepped away… for you."
He looked at her, confused.
"If I had stayed… I would have become your weakness. And your destiny… cannot afford weakness."
Her gaze deepened.
"You are connected to something far greater than you understand. And I will not let that bond break… because of me."
She extended her hand toward him.
"Promise me, Maan."
His breath slowed.
"Promise me… you will follow Kripacharya's guidance. That you will train… and become who you are meant to be."
Maan hesitated.
Then asked, quietly—
"Will I… see you again?"
Siya smiled.
"Yes."
That one word was enough.
Maan closed his eyes… and nodded.
"I promise."
The moment he opened them again—
She was gone.
Dissolving into the mist… as if she had never been there.
Only silence remained.
And a promise that would change everything.
