Chapter 117 - Chapter 117: The First Step of Renunciation

A radiant circle of golden mantras expanded across the skies above Kashi.

Each sacred syllable flowing from Maharishi Kripacharya's lips transformed into streams of celestial light, weaving themselves together into an immense mandala that slowly descended over the holy city.

The glowing formation enveloped Kashi completely.

From a distance, it appeared as though an enormous dome of sacred Sanskrit had embraced the ancient city.

The vibration of countless "Om" chants echoed through the heavens.

Every resonance carried divine energy.

Every mantra strengthened the invisible barrier protecting Shiva's eternal city.

The air itself seemed to awaken.

The sacred Ganga shimmered with golden reflections.

Temple bells began ringing on their own.

The eternal flames of Manikarnika burned brighter than ever before.

For a brief moment...

Kashi felt alive.

As if the city itself had taken another breath.

Far away...

Siya had already entered a state of profound meditation.

Her consciousness had disappeared into a realm beyond time and space.

Only Time itself knew what awaited her once her spiritual journey reached its conclusion.

Whether she would return with the answers she sought...

Or become trapped within another illusion...

No one could say.

Elsewhere...

Inside the endless spiritual labyrinth...

Maan stood alone.

His body was exhausted.

His breathing had become uneven.

His spirit felt heavier with every passing moment.

He slowly dropped to his knees.

"I'm tired..."

His voice echoed through the endless emptiness.

"I truly am."

"No matter how hard I try..."

"I can't find a way out."

"Every single day..."

"A new trial pushes me one step backward."

"The harder I struggle to understand myself..."

"The farther I seem to drift away from who I'm supposed to become."

He lowered his head.

"I don't want to ask..."

'Why me?'

"But..."

He clenched his fists.

"O Lord..."

"I'm weak."

"I'm not fearless like Siya."

"I'm not as clever as Ali."

"I'm nowhere near as powerful as Andy."

"I don't possess Guru's wisdom..."

"Or his experience."

A bitter smile appeared across his face.

"I'm nothing."

"I'm simply a mistake..."

"A mistake still paying for sins committed across lifetimes."

"I'm the kind of problem that creates more problems wherever it goes."

His voice cracked.

"Perhaps..."

"You made a mistake."

"Maybe You chose the wrong person."

"I'm not Your fragment."

"I'm not Your chosen one."

"I'm merely an ordinary man..."

"A defeated soul..."

"Fighting every day simply to survive."

Silence answered him.

Then...

A familiar voice echoed through the vastness.

Gentle.

Warm.

Infinite.

"I explained this to you already..."

"You are within Me..."

"And I am within you."

The entire realm trembled.

"That fear inside your heart..."

"...is Me."

"That confusion..."

"...is Me."

"That doubt..."

"...is also Me."

"And so is your courage."

The voice became softer.

"I dwell within every breath you take."

"I exist in every tear that falls from your eyes."

"While you search for Me in the outer world..."

"Have you ever tried searching within your own soul?"

"Look into your inner energy."

"Look into your own consciousness."

"You will find Me in every part of yourself."

Maan slowly lifted his head.

The voice continued.

"Try to know Me."

"I am not your God."

A faint laugh echoed through the endless light.

"I am your servant."

Maan froze.

"What...?"

"The fear preventing you from moving forward..."

"...is Me."

"If you wish to attain Me..."

"You must first lose Me."

"If your desire is merely to possess Me..."

"That is attachment."

"That is selfishness."

"But if you surrender yourself completely..."

"That..."

"...is sacrifice."

The surrounding universe dissolved into golden light.

The voice now carried the calm certainty of eternity.

"Renounce, Maan."

"The outcome will always belong to Krishna."

"Perform your duty..."

"Without craving its reward."

"The more you abandon attachment..."

"The closer you come to Me."

A gentle breeze passed through the divine forest surrounding him.

"I am Krishna..."

"But even within you..."

"...Krishna exists."

"You simply refuse to accept Him."

The silence that followed felt sacred.

Then came the final words.

"Renunciation..."

"...is the first step of your ascension."

"Abandon..."

"...what you love the most."

"And then..."

"You shall come closer to Me."

The voice disappeared.

The divine presence faded.

Once again...

Maan stood alone.

He stared into the endless horizon, his mind racing.

"My Lord..."

He whispered.

"What do You mean?"

"What is it that I love most?"

His eyes searched the empty world around him.

"I don't possess anything precious."

"There isn't a single object in my life that I treasure above all else."

His breathing slowed.

His thoughts spiraled deeper.

"So what were You asking me to abandon?"

"What..."

"...were You trying to tell me, Krishna?"
