Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

  Chapter 66 The Plan

  The manor was quiet.

Many rooms had lights on, and torches, recently lit, still burned in the courtyard, but the entire area was utterly silent.

"There really is the smell of blood!"

Mizunoya Yuuma's voice was low, tinged with obvious self-reproach. Takamoto

Kei, slightly better, cautiously surveyed his surroundings: "What do we do next?"

  The die was cast.

He knew that now their only option was to kill the demon and prevent further victims.

"Find the demon, then kill it! This way!"

Aoki said, quickly heading towards the direction from which the smell of blood was coming.

  Takamoto Kei opened his mouth.

He actually wanted to ask about the specific plan.

But seeing that Aoki had already gone far away, he could only pull the distraught Mizunoya Yuuma along and follow.

Crossing a plaza, a towering black building appeared ahead.

A tall, rugged-looking man sat in front of the building. Upon seeing them, he instantly sprang to his feet.

  "It's you again!"

  "You dare come here!"

His expression was ferocious, his voice filled with hatred.

Mizunoya Yuuma forced himself to stay alert and quickly said, "He's Doihara, the leader of this group!"

Aoki asked, "How many of them are there?"

Mizunoya Yuuma replied, "When we arrived during the day, there were more than a dozen people trying to stop us! According to our investigation, their core members number at least thirty."

"No wonder there's such a strong smell of blood."

Aoki's gaze passed over Doihara and looked behind them.

The black building stood silently in the middle of the lawn, its doors tightly shut, without a ray of light, like a sleeping behemoth.

The smell of blood was emanating from inside.

Doihara slowly pulled a gun from his pocket: "I was planning to come looking for you, but I didn't expect you to deliver yourselves to my doorstep."

Takamoto Kei stepped forward and shouted sharply, "Doihara, do you know what you're doing?"

"Of course I know! What I'm doing is killing you all!" Doihara's tone was chilling.

Aoki stopped Takamoto Kei, who was about to say something more.

  "Let me do it!"

Takamoto Kei glanced at him, nodded, and took two steps back.

Aoki looked at Doihara: "Besides the two of you, everyone else was eaten?"

Mizunoya Yuuma and Takamoto Kei were stunned, their eyes widening suddenly. Doihara,

upon hearing this, flew into a rage, and with a click, turned his gun towards Aoki.

"It's all your fault! It's all because of you, you killed them!"

  "Thank you," Aoki said.

Doihara, Mizunoya Yuuma, and Takamoto Kei were all stunned.

Aoki continued, "Sending these scum to hell is a great achievement, thank you for sharing some of the credit with us."

Doihara's expression twisted instantly, his finger twitching as he was about to pull the trigger.

  Thud!

  * An arm pierced his chest, tearing his heart apart.

"Eliminate evil completely, you should go with them!" Aoki said.

Doihara's gaze shifted from bewilderment to terror, then to resentment, finally settling into deathly silence as his body slowly collapsed.

Mizunoya Yuuma and Takamoto Kei were stunned.

They hadn't expected Aoki to suddenly kill.

  Bang!

The black building's door suddenly opened, and a massive figure slowly emerged, a piercing voice echoing through the night.

"Hehehe, demon slayers, you're too late! I've already eaten…"

  Splat!

Sharp nails pierced through scaly skin, a hand sinking into a head, the piercing voice abruptly ceasing.

  "Swallow!"

Aoki uttered softly, forming an invisible vortex centered on his hand.

The demon didn't even struggle; its body rapidly twisted and disintegrated, swallowed by the invisible vortex.

[Killed a demon, gained 15 experience points.]

  "Huh? 15 experience points?"

  Aoki was startled.

Judging from the demon's aura, it was quite strong; he had expected to gain over 50 experience points.

  But it only gave 15.

  "Did I misjudge, or…"

  Aoki had a bad feeling.

His predictions could be off, but not this much.

It was most likely because the experience gain had been drastically reduced.

"And, not a single 'Martial Artist' experience point was given."

  That wasn't surprising.

Martial Artists gain experience through combat.

But this wasn't even a combat, just a one-sided massacre.

Aoki closed the system and walked towards Mizunoya Yuuma and Takamoto Kei.

  "Alright, it's resolved!"

The two looked bewildered, opening their mouths but unable to speak.

After a moment of silence, Mizunoya Yuuma looked at the corpse on the ground.

  "What about him?"

"Isn't it supposed to be handled by 'Hidden'?"

"No, I mean, you killed him, but our rules…" Mizunoya Yuuma stammered.

Aoki said, "Don't worry, I killed the person. Just report it truthfully!"

The Demon Slayer Corps forbids killing.

But he wasn't a member of the Demon Slayer Corps; he only had a cooperative relationship with them.

He even suspected that Ubuyashiki Kagaya had specifically chosen him for this reason.

Ubuyashiki Kagaya wasn't a rigid, inflexible person; otherwise, he wouldn't have done something as unorthodox as letting a demon join the Demon Slayer Corps.

Of course, the truth wasn't important. What

he was certain of was that Ubuyashiki Kagaya wouldn't turn against him because of this.

Back in Azabu, he had personally slaughtered hundreds of people.

The Demon Slayer Corps was well aware of this.

"Thank you for your help today!"

Aoki greeted the two and then vanished.

Mizunoya Yuuma and Takamoto Kei remained stunned for a long time.

"So, what about the plan? Wasn't there a plan?"

"Didn't he already say? Charge in, find the demon, and kill him. Hmm, we can add another clause: kill anyone who tries to stop us too."

The two exchanged a glance and smiled bitterly.

After a moment of silence, Mizunoya Yuuma suddenly said, "I believe Doihara and his gang truly deserved to die!"

Over the years, they had killed at least dozens of people.

Their sins were far greater than many demons.

  "I agree with you!"

Takamoto Kei said without hesitation, "However, we must report this truthfully."

  Mizunoya Yuuma nodded.

Firstly, the bodies were right there; even if they wanted to hide it, it would be difficult. Secondly, concealing the truth was using one mistake to cover another, which would only create a greater error.

  "Reporting truthfully is essential,"

Takamoto Kei said, "but we should also state our attitude and opinions so that our lord and the others can understand the facts more clearly."

  "Let's do that!"

Mizunoya Yuuma took a deep breath.

"...Doihara and his gang, colluding with demons, acting as their henchmen, harming countless people, are no different from demons themselves. We unanimously believe that killing them is the best course of action..."

A moment later, a black crow carrying the intelligence quickly soared into the sky.
