Chapter 79 - Chapter 80

  Chapter 80 The Infinite City

  "Is Akaza insane?"

This was the first thought that popped into Aoki's mind.

Akaza couldn't possibly be unaware that he killed Doma.

Even if Akaza hated Doma, he shouldn't be unaware of Doma's strength.

To launch an attack on him was no different from courting death.   However, Aoki quickly remembered the eyeball from earlier and suddenly seemed thoughtful. Akaza's

eyes were filled with killing intent as he threw a punch at Aoki's face.

Thump!   Aoki steadily caught Akaza's fist, and just as he was about to retaliate, his feet suddenly gave way, the solid ground vanished, and he found himself in a strange city.

  "The Infinite City, as expected!"

Aoki quickly grasped the general outline of the current situation.

Nakime was probably searching for him; he was at least one of her targets.

Akaza was the bait, and the Infinite City was the battlefield.

This was probably another trap prepared for him by Muzan Kibutsuji.

Aoki's eyes flickered, and he let his body fall, plunging into the Infinite City.

*Thump!   * Aoki landed steadily on a platform and looked up.

A crisscrossing network of buildings formed a peculiar city.

The Infinite City was an alternate dimension.

"Space travel" could only reach what the eyes could see; it was impossible to leave the Infinite City using it alone.

  However...

Aoki sensed the spatial imprint in his mind and silently observed his surroundings.

If he were trapped before killing Doma, it would indeed be dangerous.

  But now...

Whoosh!   A sharp whooshing sound suddenly came from behind.

Aoki abruptly turned and threw a punch .

Thump!   The two fists collided, and a shockwave exploded.

Aoki remained motionless, while Akaza was sent flying, landing with a tumble, his golden eyes filled with undisguised seriousness.

The defector's ability to kill Doma meant his strength had undoubtedly increased significantly.

However, the defector's power far exceeded his expectations.

Whoosh!   The air was sliced open as a black, shadowy whip descended from the sky.

  Aoki's figure vanished abruptly.

Crack! Crack! Crack!   The building beneath him was split in two.

  Aoki turned his head.

A pale-faced youth with crimson eyes slowly emerged.

His two arms transformed into long, barbed whips, covered in sharp, menacing barbs.

  "Muzan Kibutsuji!" Aoki said calmly.

With such elaborate preparations, how could Muzan Kibutsuji not personally intervene?   Before entering the Infinity Castle, he had anticipated facing Muzan Kibutsuji.

"Defector, let's see how you escape this time!" Muzan Kibutsuji's tone was cold, his eyes blazing with killing intent.

To the left, a pot suddenly appeared, from which emerged a grotesque demon whose mouth was an eye, with an eyeball embedded in its mouth. The characters "上弦" (Upper Moon) and "五" (Fifth) were engraved in its eyes, and its mouth opened and closed, emitting an eerie laugh.

To the right, a short demon with curved horns on its head and five drums bearing the character "憎" (Hate) on its back slowly emerged, its eyes engraved with "上弦" (Upper Moon) and "肆" (Fourth).

Ahead stood the murderous-looking Muzan Kibutsuji, and behind him, Akaza watched menacingly.

"Wait, where are the other two?"

Aoki sensed something and looked down.

Below, on a platform, sat a woman holding a biwa (a type of Chinese lute), her long black hair flowing freely, her single eye particularly striking.

Beside her stood a man dressed in a purple-black kimono, with long, dark red sideburns in a high ponytail, and a long sword at his waist. Most striking was the six eyes on his face, the two middle ones engraved with "上弦" (Upper Moon) and "壱" (First Moon).

The newly promoted Upper Moon Six, Nakime!   And Kokushibo, the Upper Moon One, second only to Muzan Kibutsuji.

  Alright, now we're all here.

However, did Muzan Kibutsuji specifically send Kokushibo to protect Nakime?   He's quite thoughtful. So thoughtful

  it's almost unlike Muzan Kibutsuji.

Aoki looked around: "These are all the Upper Moons, right? I didn't expect them all to come. Am I the first opponent to send both the Demon King and the Upper Moons out together?"

  "Rat, this game ends here!"

A savage glint flashed across Muzan Kibutsuji's face as he swung his arm, the whip whistling as it lashed out at Aoki.

Such speed, such power—no wonder even Yoriichi Tsugikuni felt a chill run down his spine.

  Boom!

A huge wooden skink emerged from the right.

Countless sharp-toothed sticky fish spewed from the pot on the left, flying towards Aoki like a river, their eyes filled with bloodlust.

Akaza didn't attack, staring intently at Aoki like a wolf ready to pounce.

In the transparent world, Aoki had already detected their attack.

However, these attacks were terrifying; he dared not take them head-on.

There was no need to take the blow head-on.

With a flash, Aoki vanished from the four demons' encirclement and reappeared above Nakime's head.

Clang!   Nakime plucked her biwa, and a wooden plank suddenly appeared, blocking their path.

  Boom!

Aoki punched, shattering the plank into pieces.

But what appeared in her vision wasn't Nakime's head, but a bizarre longsword, its blade, hilt, and guard all covered in eyeballs.

"First Form, Dark Moon, Evening Palace!"

The bizarre longsword slashed, leaving behind numerous irregular, small, crescent-shaped blades.

Aoki neither dodged nor evaded, meeting the punch head-on.

  "Aoki Style, Judgment!"

*Clang!   * Kokushibo staggered back two steps, while Aoki remained motionless, a deep wound appearing on his fist, but it healed instantly.

With a flash, Aoki appeared on Nakime's other side.

Kokushibo's longsword sprouted additional blades, slashing downwards: "Eighth Form, Moon Dragon Ringtail!"

A massive slash, surrounded by countless crescent-shaped blades, instantly enveloped Aoki.

"This attack power, this range... truly worthy of being an Upper Moon One!"

Aoki dared not allow such an attack to land on him, and could only abandon his continued attack on Nakime, slamming his fists down.

Bang!   The slash shattered, and a huge gash was cut into his fist.

At that moment, the building beneath him suddenly rose, and whips lashed down from above.

The attacks from the other demons arrived as well.

Aoki's figure vanished, reappearing dozens of meters away from the battlefield.

"So many people ganging up on me? Dare to fight me one-on-one?   Kokushibo, where is your dignity as a swordsman? Muzan   Kibutsuji, didn't you boast of being invincible? Bringing your underlings to gang up on me, don't you feel ashamed?"

No one paid any attention to his provocation.

Swoosh!   Two spiked whips lashed out, essentially blocking all possible escape routes.

  Aoki's figure vanished again.

Muzan Kibutsuji's tone was icy: "Rat, run away as you please! The moment your stamina is exhausted will be the moment you die! From the moment you were imprisoned in the Infinity Castle, your fate was sealed!"

  "A good plan," Aoki said.

The consumption of "spatial travel" was indeed considerable.

Although his physical and mental strength had greatly improved compared to when he first learned it, he couldn't use it indefinitely.

At the frequency of his previous use, he wouldn't even last a day.

But that was assuming they could truly trap him here.

Aoki looked at Nakime, and his figure disappeared again.
