Chapter 14 - Chapter 014: If I Didn’t Do This, How Would You Ever Come Out to See Me? (1/5)

"Mr. Ganqing?"

Eula's voice carried a note of confusion.

"Mm, he's the new member who joined the Knights today~"

"He's called Mod Ganqing, our diplomatic envoy~"

Noelle explained patiently.

"Diplomatic envoy… Mod Ganqing…"

A sly glint flickered in Eula's eyes.

She was almost certain now.

Mod Ganqing was Lin Mo's alias.

After all, she clearly remembered seeing Lin Mo earlier—carrying brand-new pillows and bedding, along with daily necessities.

And Klee had been right beside him.

Those details were enough to confirm it.

"Alright, I understand."

Eula nodded.

"Then I'll go clean downstairs. Miss Eula, you go ahead with your business~"

With a gentle smile, Noelle turned and left the floor.

At that moment, Eula was already standing before Lin Mo's dormitory door. She raised her hand and knocked softly.

Knock, knock, knock…

"Open the door."

"I think we need to talk—properly."

"Don't worry. I've calmed down. I won't hit you again."

She tried to keep her voice as gentle as possible.

Inside the room.

Klee tiptoed up to Lin Mo's ear and whispered, "Daddy… Sister Eula says she's calmed down now~"

But Lin Mo's brow remained furrowed.

The softness in Eula's voice still carried a chill beneath it.

She clearly hadn't truly calmed down.

She probably did want to talk.

But talk about what?

In the dream, he had been the warm, attentive man who stepped into her life and into her heart.

But in reality, he was already married…

And his wife was none other than the terrifying elven witch, Alice.

How were they supposed to "talk properly" about that?

There was no solution. None at all.

So Lin Mo decided that until he figured something out, it was better not to face Eula.

"Klee, you go open the door."

"Remember—don't expose my identity."

"Sister Eula~ the door isn't locked~"

"You can just open it and come in~"

Klee's sweet voice drifted out from the room.

Without the slightest hesitation, Eula pressed down the handle.

Click.

The door opened.

She pushed it open and strode inside.

"Hm?"

What puzzled Eula was that in the thirty-square-meter dorm room, she saw only Klee, sitting obediently and hugging her Dodoco plush.

Lin Mo was nowhere to be seen.

"Klee, where did Mod Ganqing go?"

Eula asked coldly.

Klee tensed the moment Eula looked at her.

"Klee promised Brother Ganqing… Klee can't say…"

Eula realized her tone had been too harsh.

She quickly softened her expression, crouched down in front of Klee, and spoke gently.

"Klee, Sister Eula has something very important to discuss with that Brother Ganqing."

"Can Klee help Sister Eula?"

"B-But… but…"

Klee's little face twisted with hesitation.

She clearly wasn't planning to tell her.

"Ah… forget it…"

Eula sighed.

If Klee wouldn't say, she would find him herself.

Clang—

She opened the wardrobe.

No Lin Mo.

She bent down and checked under the bed.

Still nothing.

Then she noticed the balcony door—it was open.

"Do you really not want to see me that badly?"

"Would you rather jump off the balcony than face me?"

Eula's gaze dimmed.

Her eyes even began to redden.

Seeing Eula so upset, Klee seemed unable to bear it.

"Brother Ganqing didn't run away through the balcony~"

At last, she gave Eula a tiny hint.

Eula immediately looked down at the balcony tiles.

Sure enough, although the balcony door was open, the floor was covered in dust—

No footprints. None that an adult man would leave.

She turned to the windows.

They, too, were dusty and clearly unopened.

The only ways out were the door, the balcony, and the windows.

Eula suddenly realized—

Lin Mo hadn't left the room at all.

He had to be hiding somewhere inside.

Her eyes swept the dorm again.

Thirty square meters.

There was nowhere a grown man should be able to hide.

And yet, she still couldn't see him.

"Hmph. Fine. Keep hiding."

"I've got plenty of ways to make you come out on your own."

She tossed out the cold words.

Klee tilted her head in confusion.

To her, Lin Mo's hiding place was flawless.

She couldn't imagine how Eula planned to force him out.

Just then, Eula turned her back to Klee and slowly walked toward the balcony.

As she walked, one hand reached behind her.

Click.

A soft sound rang out.

The clasp at the small of her back—binding her knight's uniform tightly around her shapely waist—came undone.

"Sister Eula? What are you doing?"

Klee asked, eyes full of confusion.

Eula didn't answer.

Her hand moved up to the nape of her neck, where the key fastener of her knight's outfit was secured.

If that second button came undone,

the uniform would be forced open by her curves.

Which meant—

If she undid it, her figure—enough to make any man's blood boil—

would be exposed on the Knights' balcony, right before the eyes of Mondstadt's citizens.

Click.

The button came loose.

"Are you insane?! Button it back up!!"

A furious shout rang out.

Eula's body trembled slightly.

But it was already undone.

Her smooth back and jade-like shoulders were fully revealed before Lin Mo and Klee.

If she hadn't been holding the uniform in place with one hand,

she might have just "gifted" the people strolling through Mondstadt Square quite a spectacle.

Eula gently closed the balcony door.

Then she turned her gaze toward the Dodoco plush in Klee's arms, her beautiful eyes filled with grievance.

"If I didn't do this," she said softly,

"how would you ever come out to see me?"

The Dodoco plush in Klee's arms—

Was Lin Mo himself, transformed through ninjutsu.

A hiding place that should have been perfect—

Was finally exposed.
