Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Moving House

These bags held a grand total of 300 Galleons!

After arguing reasonably for his interests, Snape had sold the formula for *Scar-Be-Gone* to the *Rainbows Beauty Salon* in exchange for a dividend contract lasting twenty years.

Excluding the factor of near-expired magical materials, the cost of ingredients for one portion of *Scar-Be-Gone*, including the potioneer's brewing costs, was roughly over 6 Galleons.

Soon, however, each cake of *Scar-Be-Gone* would debut at *Rainbows* with a price tag of 13 Galleons!

Aside from more exquisite packaging, the effect would be no different from what Snape had sold today.

But precisely because it was backed by the industry-renowned *Rainbows*, plenty of people would be willing to pay that price. It would gradually develop into a sophisticated cosmetic product found only in upper-class wizarding families.

And for every *Scar-Be-Gone* sold, Snape would earn 2 Galleons and 5 Sickles!

Settlement would happen every six months.

Although sales hadn't started yet, Lavinia was clearly a wealthy tycoon.

Upon learning of Snape's family situation, she had immediately advanced him a large sum of Galleons for emergency use without a second thought. This advance would simply be deducted from his dividends six months later!

Going from counting every Sickle to suddenly possessing a fortune of hundreds of Galleons created a surreal feeling.

He had to admit: once you owned a crucial patent, making money was no longer a difficult problem to solve!

Especially when earning that money from women!

Before he left, Lavinia had exchanged addresses with Snape, looking as if she intended to communicate frequently in the future.

Snape naturally had no objections.

Without this major patron, who knew how much energy he would have had to expend to earn such a large sum?

Admittedly, if he sold it himself, the long-term profits would naturally be higher than selling the formula directly.

However, Snape could not accept the time and energy required for that.

That time was better spent studying magic. Otherwise, when the bloody era of the Death Eaters arrived, was he supposed to take all that money to his grave?

For this very reason, Snape was incredibly satisfied with today's astronomical deal.

For the foreseeable future, he would at least not have to worry about daily expenses, and the family living in Spinner's End could finally move to a better environment!

As expected, when such a huge pile of gold coins appeared in the *Golden Harp* sweet shop, Eileen was genuinely shocked on the spot!

She stared dumbfounded, thinking she was hallucinating.

"Remember the potion I told you about? Mum, my *Scar-Be-Gone* will soon be famous throughout Diagon Alley!"

Snape quietly explained the sequence of events.

Tears couldn't stop flowing down Eileen's face.

His mother could no longer contain the emotions surging in her chest; she held Snape tightly in her arms and wept aloud.

"…I'm sorry, Severus. It's because we are useless that you have to face these things so soon. You shouldn't have to worry about this!"

His body stiffened instinctively for a moment, but upon hearing the pained apology erupting from her suppressed emotions, Snape's body gradually relaxed.

He gently stroked Eileen's back.

Snape's expression softened, and for the first time in three months, he truly placed himself within this family.

"It's not your fault, and I have never regretted doing this."

A penny can stump a hero.

The Snape family's conditions had never been good, to the point where Eileen had once considered giving up her identity as a witch and selling the sweet shop.

Without these 300 Galleons, one could imagine this family would have continued in poverty.

Even though Snape had been secretly providing psychological counseling for Tobias, the pressure accumulated deep in his father's heart would have exploded sooner or later, blowing their currently peaceful life to pieces!

And Eileen would have had to give up the magic she loved so deeply to become an ordinary housewife forever.

Sinking into darkness isn't terrible.

What is terrible is having witnessed the light, having seen the profound charm of magical wonders, yet being forced to become mundane for the sake of survival!

Fortunately, from the first day Eric Horn replaced Severus Snape in this world, he had decided never to follow the script and experience the tragedies destined for him.

*I transmigrated just to follow a tragic style? Wouldn't that be a waste of a trip?!*

Ultimately, through Snape's clear and efficient planning over these three months, as well as his own outstanding talent, he successfully defied fate and truly embarked on a path completely different from the original story!

Once Eileen had vented most of her emotions, the two went to Gringotts to exchange money for the currency used in the English Muggle world.

Because magic is so convenient, many wizards with low moral standards find obtaining Muggle money as easy as turning over a hand.

Therefore, the exchange rate from Galleons to Pounds was an extremely substantial figure.

At least after exchanging 200 of the Galleons, the wealth obtained was enough for their family to move out of Spinner's End and into one of the best residential locations in the industrial town of Cokeworth!

The foul-smelling sewer outside the window indeed wouldn't distract Snape when he was doing serious work, but that didn't mean he liked the smell!

Back home.

Tobias, exhausted from work, opened the door.

What met his eyes were pound notes scattered all over the living room. His eyes nearly popped out of his head!

Three days later, the move began.

Snape settled into a street called White Kite Lane. Outside the house, the disgusting sewer and garbage were gone, replaced by clean, neat lawns and fresh flowers.

Except for the factory chimneys standing in the town center, the entire house was brand new and bathed in bright sunlight, completely lacking any feeling of being narrow or gloomy!

Tobias also quit his heavy job at the factory. Shouldering his beloved fishing rod, he began to wear a smile when he left early and returned late.

Eileen's *Golden Harp* sweet shop underwent a comprehensive renovation and added many fashionable and unique sweets.

It gradually attracted children to buy there, gaining quite a bit of popularity.

And after dealing with all the chores, Snape finally added an exciting line to the small black notebook he used for recording his plans—

*Go to Diagon Alley to purchase a wand!*
