I turn toward the door before he can say anything else. My head feels like it's spinning trying to make sense of everything.
Any of my brothers funding an attack. Zane's sister dying because of it.
None of it makes sense.... Not a single piece.
I reach the door and pull it open.
Behind me, Zane's voice cuts through the room one last time.
"You're not going to like what you find."
I don't turn around because if I do, I might actually start doubting myself.
And right now that's the one thing I absolutely cannot afford.
"My brother didn't kill your sister," I say over my shoulder.
Then I walk out.
The door slamming shut behind me, echoing down the hallway while my mind keeps replaying the same impossible thought.
They w wouldn't ever do something like that.
Would they?
