Cherreads

Chapter 54 - Chapter 54

The sheer, crushing pressure of the four subterranean chakra arms threatened to snap Orochimaru's spine like a dry twig. The golden-red constructs pulled in opposite directions, the Sannin's ribs audibly cracking under the immense torque. The five-tailed silhouette of Naruto stood above the impending execution, ready to rip the snake apart and end the threat once and for all.

But Orochimaru was not a man who died easily. He was a creature that had long ago abandoned his humanity for the sake of survival.

Just as the chakra arms violently jerked backward to tear him in half, Orochimaru's jaw unhinged to a grotesque, physically impossible angle. The skin of his neck tore open with a sickening, wet sound. From the gaping maw of the ruined host body, a pair of pale, fluid-soaked hands reached out, grabbing the edges of the mouth and pulling violently.

With a sickening SCHLUCK, the original Orochimaru propelled himself entirely out of his own mouth, leaving the empty, hollowed-out husk of his previous host body behind to be torn to shreds by Naruto's chakra arms.

Coated in a viscous, foul-smelling fluid, the newly birthed Sannin hit the ground and immediately dropped onto his stomach. Moving with the desperate, undulating slither of a true viper, he propelled himself backward through the ash and debris, trying to put as much distance between himself and the terrifying jinchūriki as physically possible.

Through the smoke, the white, blank eyes of the five-tailed beast snapped toward the fleeing Sannin.

"Where the hell are you going, huh?" Naruto's voice echoed, distorted and demonic, carrying a heavy, vibrating layer of Kurama's pure malice. "Don't you know when a fox locks onto its prey, it doesn't leave them alive? Especially not a snake."

Naruto didn't give chase on foot. Instead, he opened his jaws again. This time, he didn't wait to condense the ambient chakra into a hyper-dense sphere. He rapidly pulled in a violent mixture of positive black and negative white chakra, forming a smaller, unstable Tailed Beast Bomb in less than a second. It lacked the apocalyptic, mountain-erasing power of the first blast, but it made up for it in sheer, terrifying velocity.

With a sharp exhale, Naruto fired the rapid-charge Tailed Beast Bomb. It cut through the air like a localized comet.

Orochimaru looked over his shoulder just in time to see the purple-black projectile closing the distance. He didn't even have time to form a hand seal.

BOOM!

The explosive shockwave caught Orochimaru directly in the back. While it didn't vaporize him, the concussive force was devastating. The Sannin was launched forward like a ragdoll, skipping violently across the scarred earth before slamming face-first into a massive pile of jagged rock debris at the edge of the crater.

Before the dust from the impact could even begin to settle, a flash of red light tore through the clearing.

Naruto crossed the gap in a millisecond. He didn't use ninjutsu. He didn't use his sword. He used pure, unadulterated brutality. Naruto landed heavily right on top of Orochimaru's back, pinning the Sannin to the jagged rocks beneath him.

Orochimaru gasped, his lungs compressing under the sheer weight of the five-tailed chakra cloak. He tried to twist his head to spit a venomous needle, but Naruto grabbed the back of the Sannin's skull and violently slammed his face down into the stone.

CRACK!

Blood exploded from Orochimaru's nose, staining the grey rocks crimson. But Naruto wasn't done. He raised his fist—coated in the dense, boiling red chakra of the Nine-Tails—and brought it down on Orochimaru's face.

THUD.

He raised it again.

THUD.

Naruto became a machine of pure violence. He pummeled Orochimaru's face into the ground repeatedly, the sheer kinetic force of his strikes sending spiderweb cracks through the bedrock beneath them. Orochimaru thrashed, desperately trying to channel chakra into his limbs to throw the boy off, but Naruto's physical strength in the five-tailed state was absolute. He was taking hits again and again, his pale skin bruising, tearing, and bleeding under the relentless assault. Naruto was leaving absolutely no margin for error, no window for the snake to substitute or weave a sign.

Finally, Naruto stopped punching. But he didn't let go.

He dug his fingers into Orochimaru's ruined face, lifting the Sannin's head slightly off the rocks. "Burn," Naruto growled.

Naruto channeled the most corrosive, toxic atoms of Kurama's chakra directly into his palm. The red chakra flared white-hot. Orochimaru's eyes widened in sheer agony as the corrosive energy made direct contact with his skin. It didn't just burn; it dissolved him. The flesh on Orochimaru's face began to sizzle and melt, peeling back from the bone as the Nine-Tails' chakra aggressively consumed his cellular structure, threatening to turn his very skull into ash.

Knowing the sheer volatility of the chakra he was exerting, Naruto violently shoved the burning Sannin back into the rocks and backflipped away, landing gracefully fifty feet back to observe his handiwork.

Orochimaru lay motionless in the rubble, his face a smoking, ruined mess of charred flesh and exposed bone. For a moment, the forest was terrifyingly quiet, save for the crackle of burning timber in the distance.

But then, the ruined corpse began to twitch.

Once again, the jaw of the burned body unhinged. But this time, it wasn't a humanoid figure that pulled itself out.

With a deafening, wet tear that sounded like a canvas sail being ripped in half, a massive, grotesque monstrosity erupted from the smoking husk. Thick, bone-white scales gleamed in the dim light of the fires. The creature surged upward, towering over the crater. It was a colossal, hydra-like serpent, boasting five massive heads, each with glowing, sickly yellow eyes and fangs the size of broadswords.

Naruto stood his ground, his five chakra tails swaying aggressively behind him as he stared up at the mountain of white scales. He didn't look intimidated. He looked disgusted.

"So, this is your true body, Orochimaru," Naruto said, his distorted voice carrying clearly over the wind. "A parasite hiding inside a monster."

From the center head of the great white snake, Orochimaru's voice echoed out, distorted by the massive vocal cords of the beast, dripping with absolute malice and fury.

"You will pay for that, Naruto-kun! For what you just did to me!" The five heads hissed in unison, their long, forked tongues tasting the ash in the air. "I will not let you leave this place alive!"

Naruto raised his right hand, his stance widening. "Yeah. We will see about that."

Naruto's hand began to hum with a violent, screeching sound that resembled a thousand birds screaming in a hurricane. But he didn't just form a standard Rasengan. He called upon his mastery of shape transformation and nature manipulation, bypassing the need for shadow clones entirely by utilizing the five tails extending from his back.

Two of the red chakra tails whipped forward, acting as extra limbs. One tail pumped pure, razor-sharp Wind Style chakra into the sphere, while the other tail fed raw, corrosive Kyuubi chakra into the mix.

The sphere expanded, flattening out as four massive, jagged blades of wind materialized around the center. But instead of the bright, glowing blue of a standard Rasenshuriken, this construct was a terrifying, violent crimson. The air around Naruto physically warped, the sheer density of the jutsu pulling the ambient debris into its gravitational pull.

"What is that technique?!" Orochimaru thought, a spike of genuine fear piercing his rage as he sensed the sheer, cellular-destroying frequency of the jutsu.

Knowing he could not dodge a projectile of that magnitude with his current massive frame, Orochimaru decided to meet force with force. All five heads of the great white snake reared back, their jaws opening wide. A brilliant, blinding white light began to gather in their mouths, laced with the heavy, natural energy of a Sage-type chakra beam.

"Die!" Naruto roared, throwing his arm forward.

The crimson, Kyuubi-infused Rasenshuriken detached from his hand, tearing across the crater with a high-pitched scream that shattered the remaining intact rock formations.

At the exact same moment, the five heads of Orochimaru fired their collective beam. The massive pillar of white, Senjutsu-laced energy tore through the air, colliding directly with the Rasenshuriken in the dead center of the battlefield.

For a microsecond, the two attacks deadlocked. The white beam pushed against the spinning red blades, sparks of conflicting chakra raining down like a meteor shower.

But the Rasenshuriken wasn't just raw energy; it was a microscopic blender powered by the hatred of the Nine-Tails.

The spinning crimson blades gripped the white beam and began to shred it. With a violent screech, the Rasenshuriken cut straight down the center of Orochimaru's attack, splitting the beam in half and surging forward on an unstoppable trajectory.

"Impossible!" Orochimaru's voice echoed in terror.

The crimson shuriken slammed directly into the chest of the five-headed snake.

It didn't just explode. It expanded into a massive, dome-shaped vortex of microscopic wind blades and highly corrosive red chakra. The dome enveloped three of the five heads entirely. Inside the sphere, billions of microscopic wind needles, coated in the burning toxicity of the Fox, systematically severed Orochimaru's chakra network and shredded his white scales on a cellular level.

The great snake shrieked in absolute, mind-shattering agony. The sound was deafening, a monstrous roar of pain that echoed for miles across the Land of Fire.

When the dome finally collapsed and the violent winds dispersed, the true damage was revealed.

Three of the five massive snake heads had been completely vaporized, reduced to bloody, cauterized stumps. The main body of the beast was heavily mangled, the thick white scales burned away to reveal the raw, heavily damaged musculature underneath. The creature swayed heavily, struggling to keep its two remaining heads upright.

Naruto stood untouched on the other side of the crater, his five tails whipping behind him, his white, pupil-less eyes locked onto the wounded Sannin. He wasn't panting. He wasn't tired. He was simply waiting for the snake to make its next move so he could counter it and kill it.

Orochimaru stared down at the terrifying figure of the boy. The Sannin's mind raced, tossing out decades of calculated plans, contingency experiments, and holding patterns.

He had initially held back, trying to measure the boy's strength, trying to preserve his own chakra for his ultimate goals involving Sasuke and the destruction of the Leaf. But as he looked at the cold, calculating, possessed entity standing before him—a boy fighting not with the wild, flailing rage of a trapped animal, but with the cold, systematic precision of a demon-possessed executioner—Orochimaru realized a terrifying truth.

If he held back any longer, he wasn't going to make it back to his hideout. This boy was not going to stop until every single trace of his existence was burned from the face of the earth.

From the two remaining heads, Orochimaru let out a low, vibrating hiss. The Sannin realized that survival was no longer guaranteed. It was time to go all out.
