Chapter 165 - Chapter 165: Kung-Fu Dugongs

The two of them chatted for a while after that, mostly about the Grand Line and the things worth knowing before sailing deeper in. In the end, Crocus even handed over his Log Pose to Amon.

Amon had not wanted to take it at first. Unlike ordinary pirates, he had his ship, which could navigate on its own. He did not really need a Log Pose at all. But Crocus insisted, so Amon accepted it as a keepsake.

To return the favor, he gave Crocus some of his own medical notes.

At first, Crocus accepted them out of courtesy. But the moment he started reading, his expression changed.

Amon's grasp of medicine was far beyond anything Crocus had expected. His notes were not just theory either. They included practical methods, clinical judgment, and direct solutions for all kinds of symptoms and illnesses. Many of the ideas cut straight to the heart of a problem, so sharp and precise that even Crocus found them deeply enlightening.

He had always been confident in his own medical skill. After all, he had once served as the doctor of the Roger Pirates.

But after reading Amon's notes, he realized just how much broader Amon's understanding was. There were even concepts inside that hinted at ways to treat illnesses most people would have considered hopeless.

By the time he finished, Crocus's eyes were practically shining.

If Amon had not already left Twin Cape by then, Crocus might have been tempted to ask for instruction on the spot.

...

After leaving Twin Cape, Amon was in a very good mood.

"Lily, right there. A little more to the left."

Stretched out on a beach chair on the deck, he enjoyed a telekinetic massage from Lily.

He had never relaxed her training these past few days, and recently he discovered that her telekinesis worked surprisingly well for loosening muscles and easing the body. So he had naturally arranged for her to help him, all while calling it mental training and saying it would help her level up faster.

"Yes, that's the spot. More strength. Perfect."

This exclusive Jar had really paid off.

Traveling with a cute little companion at his side was at least a hundred times better than wandering alone.

"System, where are we going next?"

Since leaving Twin Cape, they had continued sailing without stopping, even when islands appeared along the way. That left Amon quite curious about the next destination.

[Alabasta Kingdom.]

The system was as brief as ever. After answering, it fell silent again.

"Alabasta? So that's Vivi's homeland... and Karoo's too."

The image of Princess Vivi and Karoo appeared in his mind.

"And Crocodile should be there too. I wonder if Robin has already joined Baroque Works."

That thought only made the trip more interesting.

A young Robin.

That was a good reason to look forward to Alabasta.

"Lily, don't stop. Keep going."

When he felt her strength ease off, Amon glanced back and told her to put more force into it.

Lily puffed up her cheeks at once.

"Master is bad. This isn't training Lily's mental power at all. Master just wants to enjoy himself."

She had finally seen through him. This kind of massage barely consumed any mental energy, so how could it count as proper training?

Amon coughed and started defending himself immediately.

"How could that be? This is called balancing work and rest. Besides, controlling your strength like this is still a form of precision training."

"Hmph."

Amon laughed helplessly.

"All right, all right. Don't be mad. Tonight I'll make you a huge dinner as a reward."

"And your favorite spicy strips too."

That worked instantly.

Ever since tasting Amon's cooking, Lily had been thoroughly turned into a little glutton. The moment she heard there would be a feast and spicy strips, her eyes lit up, and the force in her telekinetic massage grew much stronger on the spot.

That nearly made Amon melt right into the chair.

Traveling with a girl around made life on the sea far more comfortable.

And so the master and servant pair continued sailing for several more days.

It was only because of Lily's company that the trip stayed bearable. If Amon had been alone, he would have died of boredom already.

Even so, the endless sea still started to wear on him.

Luckily, after a few more days, an enormous island finally appeared ahead.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have arrived at the destination: Alabasta Kingdom.

Please sell at least five Jars here.]

The system's voice sounded the moment the island came into view.

"At last."

Amon had been lying around with nothing to do, but the second he saw land, he flipped upright and came back to life.

Twin Cape felt so far from here. Without Lily keeping him company, the journey would have been unbearable.

As for selling five Jars, he was not worried about that much.

"Lily, let's go. We're getting off."

Once the ship docked, Amon jumped down with Lily and headed ashore.

But before they had gone more than a few steps, a large group of small green creatures with cute faces and turtle-like shells on their backs came rushing toward them.

"Waha!!!"

Amon's eyes lit up.

"KUNG-FU DUGONGS!"

The name sprang into his mind as soon as he saw them.

"Wuha!!!"

The little creatures were already charging in to attack. They were notoriously combative and would pick fights with anything alive that passed by.

Lily did not wait for Amon to move.

Smack, smack, smack.

She swept out with her telekinesis, and every Kung-Fu Dugong that had rushed forward was instantly sent flying into the air.

After all the training Amon had put her through these past few days, Lily's strength had risen quite a bit. One burst of telekinesis was enough to throw the whole group aside.

She had handled them cleanly.
