Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Advice from the Law Dragon

Nighttime.

Weston returned home and opened the operation interface of the Super Archive once again. He clicked on the avatar in the corner and sent a message to his portable grandpa—the old Law Dragon.

"Senior, are you there?"

A few seconds later, Elefseria replied: "Something up?"

"It's like this. Although my magic, Super Archive, is very efficient in intelligence gathering and processing, it isn't very useful in combat. So, I want to learn a magic for combat. I was wondering if you had any recommendations?"

After sending the message, Weston sat quietly, his eyes fixed on the chat box, waiting for the reply from the other side.

After a while, the beeping sound finally rang out.

"Being able to awaken Super Archive shows you have a talent for processing information and text."

"If you want to learn magic capable of combat, I suggest you try 'Letter Magic'."

Letter Magic?

Upon receiving the suggestion, Weston immediately began to think.

Letter Magic was the ability to write text with specific meanings using magic power and materialize the content.

In the original work, there were three people who used this magic.

One was Levy, one was Freed, and the last was the samurai Yomazu from Grimoire Heart.

Within these three types of magic, there were concepts of "Solid" and "Jutsu Shiki."

The former was making text three-dimensional; for example, writing "Iron" would generate iron, and writing "Cut" would create a slashing attack.

The latter involved generating "rules" on the surface of any object or in space, which was suitable for creating traps.

Beyond that, there were differences in the scripts used.

There were many types of scripts in Earthland.

The mainstream script was a special language from another world with unique shapes.

However, whether it was the "English" used by Levy, the "Oriental Script" used by Yomazu, or the script used by Freed, they all belonged to niche scripts.

The reason for choosing niche scripts was, firstly, for ease of writing—being able to express the most complex content with the simplest strokes—and secondly, to reduce the probability of the opponent deciphering the text and using it against the caster.

Therefore, to utilize this type of magic to its extreme, the chosen script should be as obscure and concise as possible.

"Letter Magic, huh..."

"That is indeed a good choice!"

After briefly recalling the usage methods of this magic, a picture immediately appeared in Weston's mind:

Smoke filled the air, and the flames of war raged.

On a battlefield with a million participants, he stood proudly, one hand behind his back and the other in front of him. With two fingers pressed together, he wrote characters freely in the air.

As he waved his single hand, four large characters—"Execute," "Slaughter," "Sever," and "Trap"—immediately floated in the air, each character radiating thick magic power.

Immediately following a booming sound, four streams of magic power dispersed simultaneously, connecting head to tail. In the blink of an eye, they formed a huge magic circle, enclosing all one million opponents within it.

In the next second, endless sword energy raged madly, exterminating everyone trapped in the magic circle.

In a flash, corpses piled up like mountains, and blood flowed like rivers...

He waved his hand again, and the formation dissipated. Looking at the battlefield before him, he sighed: "Sigh... why did you insist on opposing me?"

Suddenly, a corpse rolled to his feet.

The corpse abruptly opened its eyes, opened its mouth, and shouted loudly—

"Kid, what are you daydreaming about?"

"You're drooling!"

Weston was startled awake. Looking at the old Law Dragon's confused face on the video call, he realized he had accidentally entered fantasy time just now.

This was very awkward...

"Nothing, nothing..."

Weston hurriedly reached out to wipe the saliva from the corner of his mouth and found a random excuse to gloss over it. "Work was too hard today, so I accidentally dozed off. Please don't take offense, Senior."

"Work?"

"Is your living environment very poor?"

Perhaps because it was rare to see a "genius" like Weston, Elefseria took a bit of interest in him.

"Uh..."

"It's fine, it's fine. I can handle it. Senior doesn't need to worry about these things."

"What were you saying just now?"

Seeing that Weston didn't want to talk much about his living environment, Elefseria didn't ask further and simply said, "I have collected about thirty relatively mature but niche scripts here. I'll pack them up and send them to you. You can take a look and choose one to use."

"Hmm... Then thank you very much, Senior."

The two then chatted idly for a bit.

Weston pretended to be curious and asked about Elefseria's identity. The old man didn't hide anything and directly stated his background.

From the other party, Weston learned that Magia Dragon had already been established by this time and was even heading towards decline.

During the process of dealing with the Six Dragon Gods, the mages in the guild had either died or been injured, eventually becoming unable to continue working as mages.

Currently, aside from himself, Magia Dragon only had three to five people barely holding it together.

After ending the call, Weston began to check the compressed package of scripts sent by Elefseria.

There were more than thirty languages, but only two or three looked familiar to him.

"Relearning a script is impossible. It seems I can only choose between English and Chinese..."

"Eh, wait!"

"Why must I use the language of this world?"

"If I use the computer languages I learned in my previous life..."

For a moment, Weston remembered the Java, C++, C#, Python, and Lua he had learned in his past life...

Instantly, a shiver ran through his whole body.

"Bad idea, bad idea..."

"Just thinking about it gives me chills!"

"I must be crazy. I've transmigrated to another world, so why am I still thinking about those filthy things?!"

After calming down, a new idea emerged in Weston's mind.

"Indeed, as far as Letter Magic is concerned, those languages are not easy to use at all!"

"But if I use them to write Jutsu Shiki, no one should be able to crack them, right?"

Hmm...

At most, they could use brute force to destroy them, but cracking and rewriting them should be impossible.

Speaking of which, if he used this kind of text to create magic, or like Zeref creating the Etherious, used it to create some kind of life...

"Stop, stop!"

"I can't think about it anymore!"

"I don't want to be targeted by Ankhseram at such a young age before I've even dated once!"

After repeated consideration, Weston finally decided to use "Chinese" as the medium for casting his Letter Magic.

Chinese also existed in this world.

It was mentioned in the language package sent by the old Law Dragon.

However, in this world, Chinese was a rather ancient script. The time it was used predated the era when dragons dominated the continent; it was bred within a certain grand civilization.

However, as races changed, this language was gradually replaced.

Although later generations combined the remaining characters with other scripts to create the "Oriental Script," it was still difficult to restore the essence of Chinese.

Fortunately, its true heir had arrived!
