Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Debut (Part 3)

Backstage at KBS Music Bank, Bae Suzy led Han Woo-sung to greet various seniors. T-ara was the last group left. Bae Suzy said, "The remaining one is the hottest group lately; even Girls' Generation has to give way to them a bit. Be respectful when you go in, don't talk like you do at the company. That one inside named Ryu Hwayoung—it's best not to provoke her, and don't have any contact with her in the future, okay?"

Han Woo-sung responded to Noona Suzy, "noona, you're so naggy! I've been listening to this for over half an hour. I'll definitely be polite. I've seen her photos; she's ugly, her singing is terrible, and her rap sounds like she's running out of breath. Why would I ever have contact with her!"

Bae Suzy urged, "As long as you know. Just don't say what you just said in front of others, or you'll be in trouble."

Knock, knock, knock. Han Woo-sung knocked on T-ara's waiting room door. Park Jiyeon opened it. Han Woo-sung said, "Annyeonghaseyo! I am the rookie solo singer Han Woo-sung, and beside me is my senior noona Bae Suzy. These are my new albums, available in Japanese, Korean, and English versions. There are twenty-one albums in total, please accept them, seniors."

Park Jiyeon asked with some confusion, "Kamsahamnida. Suzy, is he actually younger than you?"

Bae Suzy said speechlessly, "Otherwise? Did I trick him into calling me noona?"

Park Jiyeon smiled and said, "Hard to say."

Han Woo-sung explained to Park Jiyeon, "Senior Jiyeon, I was born on January 9, 1996, so I'm over a year younger than Senior Suzy."

Hearing this, Park Jiyeon said, "I see, come in." Then she shouted loudly, "unnies, it's a rookie solo singer from JYP, he's just a kid."

Ham Eun-jung said, "Why are you shouting so loud! Our ears aren't deaf yet! But he really does look very young!"

Jeon Bo Ram, Lee Ji-hyun, Park Soyeon, and Park Hyomin chimed in, "He does look a bit young, but he's quite tall."

Han Woo-sung said, "Seniors, you really are as beautiful as Noona Suzy said! Every one of you is prettier than Senior Suzy!" (This was a lie.)

Hearing Han Woo-sung's words, Ryu Hwayoung said happily, "Exactly~ You think so too? Do you know me?"

Han Woo-sung began weaving his lies: "Uh~ I know you, Senior. Your singing style is very unique, your looks are very... unconventional, and your rap has a very natural feel to it."

Ryu Hwayoung was especially happy after hearing Han Woo-sung's praise: "You really understand me! Want to exchange contact info? My number is 0..."

Han Woo-sung thought to himself, 'Is this person crazy? Why add me? I'm a minor and she's so ugly; Senior Park Jiyeon would be more like it.' However, he spoke in a completely different tone: "I have to hand my phone over to my uncle Park Jinyoung every day! I really want to add you, Senior, but my memory isn't very good. How about this! Give me one of your albums! Just write your contact info on the album. Of course, if any of you seniors have boyfriends, you don't need to write it."

After leaving T-ara's waiting room, Bae Suzy said with a cold face, "Oh! Isn't this T-ara's dear little brother? Why are you following behind me? I'm not as pretty as the T-ara seniors, am I? And I don't proactively give you my phone number like they do!"

Alarm bells rang in Han Woo-sung's mind as he spoke up, "noona, I was just joking earlier. They can't even compare to a single strand of your hair. Wasn't I just trying to leave a good impression on the seniors?"

Bae Suzy rolled her eyes and said, "So your 'good impression' involves using me to talk them up? Do you feel like you've lived too long? You're only sixteen! Do you want to go sleep in a cemetery already?"

Hearing this, Han Woo-sung immediately tried to please Bae Suzy: "noona, how could I want to go there! I think noona is the world's number one beauty! If the company didn't forbid dating, I would have pursued you already."

Bae Suzy: "You'd better be joking."

Han Woo-sung: "noona, are we going to rehearse?"

Bae Suzy: "If we don't rehearse, what will you do if you can't adapt later? Did those T-ara seniors steal your brain away? How can you ask such a stupid question."

Han Woo-sung didn't dare talk back at all: "Thanks for the reminder, noona. I know I was wrong."

At the rehearsal stage, Han Woo-sung sang: "I fall into a sleep, I've always believed, I've completely forgotten you, but why..."

On the KBS Music Bank stage, as Bae Suzy's last lyric fell: "wanna see you again hmm," this music show performance came to an end.

Music MC: "Thanks to Suzy and Y.S for their performance. I believe everyone was amazed by their voices. Next is the awarding of the first-place trophy. The candidates for first place are T-ara's Lovey-Dovey and BigBang's BAD BOY."

After the votes were announced, T-ara won first place by a narrow margin of 19 points. Music MC: "The winner of first place is T-ara's Lovey-Dovey, chukahamnida!"

Han Woo-sung: "That's T-ara's thirteenth win, right?"

Bae Suzy looked at the seven members of T-ara with some envy: "Majayo, Majayo. If nothing unexpected happens this year, T-ara might become a Girl Group on the same level as Girls' Generation."

Han Woo-sung felt it was a bit unlikely and expressed his view: "That's probably impossible, right? Can they really have three hit songs in a row?"

Bae Suzy said helplessly, "It's hard to say! The song quality of their last two comebacks has been quite good."

Han Woo-sung analyzed the only possibility for them to fall off halfway: "Then there's no other way, is there? Unless they have internal conflicts."

Bae Suzy heard this and replied, "That's the only way, but they seem to have a good relationship, so they probably won't have conflicts."

Han Woo-sung thought of something and said, "Maybe it's just that individual members are too selfish!"

After finishing the day's schedule, Han Woo-sung returned to the company to start songwriting. Since Bae Suzy needed to go filming, Han Woo-sung's promotion cycle ended abruptly after just one day of performing.

"What kind of trash lyrics are these? How could I write this crap!" Han Woo-sung looked at the lyrics of the song and shouted out loud.

The people in the recording studio went to get Park Jinyoung because Han Woo-sung kept saying the lyrics he wrote were bad because the staff nearby were affecting his writing ability.

It was a case of 'better to disparage others than improve oneself.' The staff were unhappy and went to find Park Jinyoung, saying, "Han Woo-sung is making a scene in the recording studio."

Park Jinyoung came over and scolded, "Can you keep the noise down? I could hear your voice even outside the company. Are you trying to die in the office? You wrote some lyrics and now you're blaming others."

Park Jinyoung took a look at the lyrics—Oppa gangnam style—and immediately went: "Ha~ ha-ha~ ha! What kind of rotten lyrics are these? You're regressing as you get older."

Han Woo-sung felt he had lost face and said fiercely, "What are you laughing at? In May, I'll make a comeback with this song and show you I can take the most first-place wins in Korea. Keep barking here; you'd better not have a comeback then, or watch me blow you away."

Park Jinyoung felt like he was hearing something incredible: "I'm waiting for you to blow me away? I'll tell the people in Division One to move my comeback to May. I want to watch you fall at my feet and submit to me, then cry and say 'Uncle, give me a song!'"

Han Woo-sung looked defiant: "With those crappy songs of yours, I could lose to you? Don't look at the fact that I just debuted this year; I'll still slaughter your rotten songs when the time comes."

Park Jinyoung's face no longer showed any expression, then he said loudly, "You actually dare to call my songs rotten! Your song can't even make it into the top fifty on the Melon chart! If my songs are rotten, your song is a song for maggots!"

Jackson Wang, Park Jihyo, Im Nayeon, and a group of Trainees were outside watching the two argue. Park Jihyo: "They won't start fighting, will they?" Jackson Wang: "The CEO's nephew is really something, even daring to scold the CEO."

Im Nayeon said with a laugh, "This is hilarious~ Neither of their songs even made it into the top thirty, yet they're arguing over whose song is worse."

Han Woo-sung: "Fine, fine, fine, I'm a maggot, right! Come~ come~ come, you guys over there, stop watching and come out to be witnesses."

Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Im Nayeon, Yoo Jeongyeon, and Park Jihyo slowly walked out. Park Jinyoung, showing no dignity as a company boss, said, "The five of you be witnesses. He and I will both make a comeback on May 9th. Whoever gets fewer music show wins and worse digital chart data will give all the money earned from their album to the Trainees as a year-end red envelope bonus."

Hearing this, Jackson Wang quickly said, "You two should get a camera and record this, so neither of you can back out later." The other four chimed in, "Right, right."

Han Woo-sung was seen picking up the recording studio's camera and starting to film, repeating the words from just now, and then: "I, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Im Nayeon, Yoo Jeongyeon, and Park Jihyo, are the witnesses for this bet. If either party doesn't fulfill their promise, they won't be able to have sons."
