Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Drugging

Tu Xiao'an would rather become a Snake than leave the mortal world. Why? To protect his mother and older sister, to keep them from being lonely, wronged, and bullied.

Now that someone had malicious designs on his sister, Killing Intent surged through Tu Xiao'an like a tempest.

In the darkness, the small, silver-white snake quietly tailed the figure ahead, following all the way to a well-decorated house.

The door opened. Lei Ao, a wide grin on his face, ushered Tu Xiaoyue inside, then immediately shut the door behind them.

Before she went in, Tu Xiao'an could see his sister's hesitant silhouette. But in the end, she still entered. When you have to ask for a favor, you're no longer in control.

The door was closed, and Tu Xiao'an couldn't get in. He quickly looked around, then slithered silently through an open window.

In the living room, Lei Ao enthusiastically welcomed Tu Xiaoyue to the sofa. "My place isn't too bad, is it, little sis?" he said warmly.

Tu Xiaoyue was in no mood to admire his house. She just glanced around and nodded.

Lei Ao acted as if he'd forgotten why he'd brought her here, making aimless small talk. Tu Xiaoyue, distracted, played along until she couldn't take it anymore. "Brother Lei, shouldn't we get down to business? About the money..."

"Oh, little sis, look at me. I got so excited I almost forgot. Your big bro will go get the money for you right now. Just wait here a moment."

With that, Lei Ao left the living room and headed for a bedroom. From the shadows, a slender white form quickly followed.

In the bedroom, Lei Ao opened a hidden safe. Inside were more than a dozen thick stacks of cash.

It had to be said, loan sharking was very profitable. On top of that, Lei Ao also owned a casino. He was practically raking in a fortune every day.

He took out fifty thousand yuan, then closed the safe. A glint flashed in his eyes. He didn't leave right away. Instead, he opened a drawer in a desk, took out a Medicine Bottle, and shook out a small white pill.

With the pill in his hand, Lei Ao's expression slowly turned lecherous.

Next, Lei Ao went to the kitchen and got a teapot. Whistling, in high spirits, he furtively dropped the white pill into the pot and began to shake it.

"Haha, mission accomplished! Looks like I'm in for some fun again tonight!"

Lei Ao shook the teapot with a lecherous expression, wanting the pill to dissolve quickly into the tea.

Lei Ao thought this whole series of actions had been perfectly discreet, unaware that his every move had been witnessed by a venomous snake.

'Hmph. If you don't court death, you won't die. Lei Ao, you're digging your own grave.'

'Tu Xiao'an never imagined Lei Ao would be so brazen. He actually dared to drug my sister! From the looks of it, he's an old hand at this. He must have done this sort of thing plenty of times before.'

'I wonder how many girls he's ruined this way.'

'Today, I, Tu Xiao'an, will rid the world of this pest and eliminate this scumbag. I've already taken a life today, so what's one more?'

'Besides, it's illegal for a person to kill another person, but what about a Snake? The police and the law couldn't touch him.'

Tu Xiao'an's Killing Intent was palpable, but despite his rage, he didn't strike immediately. All that mattered was preventing his sister from drinking the water in that teapot.

Having done all this, Lei Ao carried the teapot back to the living room. Seeing the beautiful woman on the sofa, he felt a fire ignite within him.

"Come on, little sis. Have some tea."

Lei Ao sat down across from her, poured a cup of tea for Tu Xiaoyue, and watched her with a sly grin.

'As long as this girl drinks this tea, she'll be mine tonight.'

"Brother Lei, didn't you say you were going to get the money?"

Tu Xiaoyue was in no mood to drink tea; she just wanted to get the money and leave as quickly as possible.

For some reason, she had a bad feeling.

"Haha, are you afraid your big bro will go back on his word?" With a grand gesture, Lei Ao pulled fifty thousand yuan from his pocket and slapped it on the coffee table. "Fifty thousand, not a cent less. It's all yours, little sis."

Seeing the money, Tu Xiaoyue felt a little more at ease. "Then I'll write you an IOU for fifty thousand right now, Brother Lei," she said quickly.

"What's the rush, little sis? It doesn't matter whether you write an IOU or not. Come on, have some tea first. It's your first time at Brother Lei's house. I can't just let you leave without even having a sip of tea. That would be too rude."

Lei Ao's gaze burned as he stared at Tu Xiaoyue's curvaceous figure, making it hard for him to control the heat rising within him.

"I'm not thirsty. Let's just write the IOU first. It's getting late, and my mom's waiting for me," Tu Xiaoyue said. She had always been wary of Lei Ao. His reputation in Bai Town was far from good. If she hadn't been completely out of options, she never would have tried to borrow money from a loan shark like him.

But when Lei Ao heard this, his face fell. "Now that's not right of you, little sis," he said, his voice sinking. "You come to Brother Lei's house and you won't even drink a sip of tea? Don't tell me you're afraid I'd put something in it?"

"If you don't even have that little bit of trust, then I don't think you should borrow this money at all. It's really disheartening."

As he spoke, Lei Ao placed a hand on the fifty thousand yuan, a clear threat.

"No, no, that's not what I meant," Tu Xiaoyue said, growing flustered. She didn't know what to do.

Lei Ao kept a straight face, lit a cigarette, and said, "Little sis, go out and ask around what kind of person I, Lei Ao, am. I always play by the rules. I'm only doing this because I see you're in a tough spot and I want to help you out. But you won't even drink a sip of tea. That's a clear sign you're not giving me, Lei Ao, any face."

"You've misunderstood, Brother Lei. I'm just not thirsty. I didn't mean anything else."

Lei Ao cut in, "In that case, just drink the tea. Then you can take the money and go. Write the IOU or not, it's up to you."

Unable to refuse any longer, Tu Xiaoyue sighed. "Alright, I'll have a sip of tea and then write you the IOU."

"That's more like it. Coming to Brother Lei's house is like coming to your own home. Don't be so reserved. You have to at least let me be a proper host."

Tu Xiaoyue gave an unnatural smile.

After all, she didn't have much life experience. Though she was on her guard, she was still too naive. She glanced at the tea, not thinking too much about it. Since he had insisted so much, she felt she couldn't refuse and cause him to lose face. She picked up the cup from the coffee table, preparing to drink it.

At that moment, a glint flickered in Lei Ao's eyes. 'Success!' he thought. 'As long as this girl drinks this tea, even if I tell her to leave, she won't have the strength to get home.'

'Little girl, do you really think you can escape the palm of my hand?'

Tu Xiaoyue raised the cup, ready to down it in one go, but suddenly, she froze. A small mosquito had flown from nowhere, buzzed back and forth in front of her cup, and then abruptly plunged into the tea.

"Little sis, what are you waiting for? I made this tea specially for you with the finest leaves," Lei Ao urged impatiently.

But Tu Xiaoyue put the cup down. "A mosquito fell into the tea. I can't drink it now."

"A mosquito?" Lei Ao was slightly surprised. He craned his neck to look and, sure enough, there was a mosquito "swimming" inside.

'Damn it! How could a mosquito fall in?' Lei Ao cursed inwardly, then forced a smile. "No problem, I'll pour you another cup."

With that, Lei Ao dumped out the tea with the mosquito in it, picked up the teapot, and poured a fresh cup.

"No mosquito this time. Go ahead and drink, little sis. It's good tea, give it a taste."

Tu Xiaoyue said, "Oh," and reached for the cup. But then, something strange happened again.

Another mosquito darted out and, right before Lei Ao and Tu Xiaoyue's eyes, plunged headfirst into the teacup.

The two of them were completely dumbfounded. What the hell was with these mosquitoes? Were they suicidal?
