The Buddha Beads were perfectly round and full, exuding a faint sandalwood fragrance.
She began to flick through the Buddha Beads with her thumb.
At the same time, she skillfully began to chant scriptures.
As the sound of her chanting gradually faded, she reached into her backpack again and took out another portrait.
One after another, she laid them out. The portraits all depicted different gods from various legends.
Ever since she had been plagued by that Nightmare.
She had entrusted her spirit wholeheartedly to these deities.
She hoped that among this multitude of gods, a real one would hear her call, feel her pain, and save her.
Unfortunately, up to this point, none of the gods she believed in seemed to have offered her any tangible help.
But she didn't mind.
As long as there were still gods and faiths in the world she had yet to discover, she was willing to embrace them without hesitation and worship them piously.
At the very least, it calmed her heart.
