Carina Sanders was firm, and there was nothing Margaret Jennings could do. In the end, Jared Woods dejectedly returned to his seat, the rims of his eyes still red.
He was just a kid, after all. The tour guide went over to comfort him, "Jared, don't cry. We'll be eating dumplings in a little while."
Jared Woods stopped crying instantly and grinned. "What kind of filling?"
The tour guide was amused by his sudden change in mood. "Lots of different kinds."
Jared Woods's tears turned to laughter. "Okay, time for dumplings."
Chelsea Raines, who was standing to the side, also breathed a sigh of relief. If he kept making a scene, she wouldn't have been able to control him.
Ruby Preston hesitated nearby, then finally spoke. "This might sound a bit blunt, but Chelsea, you spoil that child too much. You can't just give him everything he asks for. If this goes on, it's bound to cause problems sooner or later."
