"The madam doesn't like bright sunlight. She says it irritates her to see it," the butler said.
Naomi Kenway said, "But the sunlight is so warm. I feel my mood lifting just from it shining in. Grandma, feel it for yourself, don't you agree?"
After a moment of adjustment, a smile appeared on Susan Hughes's face. She blinked a couple of times. "You're right."
She instructed the butler, "Leave it like this. Don't draw the curtains again."
Naomi Kenway smiled. "Getting more sun will make you healthier. I remember you used to love playing mahjong. Why have you stopped?"
Susan Hughes's expression soured at the mention of it. "The younger ones are too strict. The moment I touch a mahjong tile, they start nagging endlessly. They say I need to recuperate quietly, that I need to rest well." She sighed. "My days have gotten so boring. I can only move about this estate, and I'm sick and tired of looking at the flowers in the garden."
