Chelsea Raines figured that with Renee Jennings in trouble, she ought to help out. It would be as if Renee owed her a favor. She said, "Leave Nathan to me. I'm so close with his mom, and besides, Jared and Nathan are good friends. They're like brothers."
The director didn't agree immediately, instead asking for Nathan Lynch's opinion. "Nathan, what do you think about going with Aunt Chelsea?"
Nathan Lynch shook his head. "I don't want to go with her."
Hearing this, Chelsea Raines turned her head away. 'That kid really doesn't know what's good for him,' she thought.
"Then who do you want to stay with?" the director asked.
Nathan Lynch's gaze swept over all the guests before he said without hesitation, "I want to go with Aunt Kenway. Can I go with Aunt Kenway?"
The director then asked Naomi Kenway, "Ms. Kenway, what do you think?"
