Xu Changqing felt a pang of unease. She originally hadn't wanted to stoop to secretly taking things for free, not even to furnish her empty Changqing Garden.
Before coming in, her plan had been to simply pick a few things and haul them away with the cargo tricycle. But now, she could no longer worry about whether her actions were too underhanded.
Even though she could rely on Changqing Garden to whisk things away without alerting the old woman outside, these items were bulky. The pile they came from would be noticeably shorter once they were gone.
Left with no choice, Xu Changqing had to do some rearranging. For example, she took some of the wooden pieces that had been lying horizontally in the now-shorter pile and stood them upright.
That made it look passable. 'Thank goodness the large chests aren't just a meter high anymore,' she thought. 'Otherwise, I'd really have no way to deal with a whole warehouse full of things.'
