Once exams were over, the last month of the lunar year began, and so did winter break. At last, she no longer had to ask for leave—she could justifiably skip braving the wind and snow to get to class.
But before she could relax, Xu Changqing, fresh off two straight days of exams, had another important event to attend: the third-day bath ceremony for the Shen Family's second granddaughter.
Xu Changqing had barely managed to steal a few extra moments in her cozy, warm bed when Old Mrs. Xu rousted her from the blankets. Then, before it was even eight o'clock, she was ushered out the door.
