In the face of God's authority, Lucifer still defied His command.
He could not cast aside his pride, nor could he forsake the dignity of an Angel. He could not stop himself from envying Adam, a child favored by God for no apparent reason.
More importantly, he craved the right to make his own choices, longed for a taste of freedom, and above all, he could not bear to see his brothers and sisters kneel before a mere human.
Once he disobeyed, there was no turning back.
Millennia of reverence and love for God were washed away. A storm of emotions churned within Lucifer.
He ultimately renounced his faith in God. Leading the Angels under his command to the Ninefold Heaven, he raised his head to look God in the eye. He banished his trepidation and fear, straightened his spine, unfurled the great wings at his back, and declared war.
