After Zhao Baizhou and the Madam of the Yue Family finished freshening up, they realized Chun Mian was nowhere to be found. The door was closed, but she wasn't in the house.
The Madam of the Yue Family looked around and noticed that the basket and the woodchopper's knife were missing. She smiled and said, "The child probably went up the mountain early in the morning, afraid of making us uncomfortable. It's all your fault," she added, giving Zhao Baizhou a slightly embarrassed shove.
"Yes, yes, yes, it's all my fault," Zhao Baizhou conceded with a smile, cupping his hands in a playful salute.
After their teasing banter, they set to work—one preparing breakfast while the other tended the fire—and discussed their future plans.
