The Winged Dragon Clan's reasoning was simple: it was every beast for themselves. Whoever snatched it, kept it!
They were also on good terms with the City Lord and certain council members. If anyone dared to challenge them, they would be accused of disrupting the harmony of Beast City, made an example of, and punished to intimidate others.
The other residents of Beast City weren't united, so the Winged Dragon Clan exploited this weakness. Their territory expanded more and more until they had fenced off this grassland, the ten-thousand-mu lake, and the adjacent forest.
Every two or three years, the Winged Dragon Clan would form marriage alliances with other friendly families and tribes. They were generous to their in-laws, sending them gifts from time to time.
Although the land had not yet been registered as Winged Dragon Clan territory at the City Lord Mansion, everyone had already sullenly accepted the clan's tyrannical dominance.
