Victor Morgan didn't get angry at the slap. He simply caught Jessie Sterling's misbehaving hand, brought it to his lips, and nibbled on it.
"Baby, time to wake up," Victor Morgan whispered, as if afraid of startling the still-dreaming woman.
His teasing stirred Jessie Sterling awake.
The first thing she saw upon opening her eyes was his handsome face, magnified as it leaned in close to her.
She mumbled something and rolled over, looking like she wanted to go right back to sleep.
"It's snowing," Victor Morgan said. Seeing her reaction, he felt a bit helpless and decided to play his final trump card.
"Don't you want to see the snow, baby? It's already sticking to the ground. We can even build a snowman before it melts," Victor continued, trying to lure out Jessie, who was currently pulling the covers tighter and pretending she hadn't heard a thing.
