Victor saw Jessie's conflicted expression and found it amusing.
"Well, you can either watch TV at home or go ice skating at home. Pick one," Victor said.
Jessie only thought for three seconds before sighing. 'Isn't this just choosing the lesser of two evils?' Still, having something to do was better than nothing.
"Alright, we'll do it at home then."
At least their house was big enough. An ordinary family wouldn't have such an opportunity. At most, they might have a small pond for flowers and a decorative rockery. Wanting to ice skate in something like that would be a complete pipe dream.
By the time Victor hauled the equipment up from the basement, the commotion had drawn Director and Mrs. Sterling out. They both fell silent at the sight.
When they learned Victor was planning to indulge their daughter's whim right at home, what could they possibly say?
