Ian Quincy closed and locked the door. His heart ached as he wiped away Cecilia Adler's tears. "Even if they have their reasons, if we don't want to forgive them, we don't have to."
Cecilia Adler managed a choked "mm-hmm."
Just then, there was another knock on the door.
Ian Quincy thought Ronan Shaw had returned. "Looking for a beating, are you!" His temper flared, and he stormed over to fling the door open.
Standing before him were a young woman and a middle-aged woman.
The young woman was holding an IV drip, and the older woman's hand was reaching downward.
The two were so startled by Ian Quincy that they immediately turned to leave.
Ian Quincy cleared his throat. "My apologies, I thought you were someone else. Please, come in." He then returned to his seat.
Cecilia Adler couldn't help but laugh through her tears. "You really need to work on that temper."
Ian Quincy felt he was already much better than before, but he still promised, "Yeah, I will."
