Nora Ainsworth's fingertips were ice-cold. It was as if all her strength had been drained away, leaving her with no energy to say another word.
'The answer was so clear. There was no need to press for details.'
"Why have you gone silent?"
Nora replied, "There's nothing to say."

Outside the door, Catherine Callahan stomped her foot in frustration. Hearing no sounds from inside, she hesitated, unsure if she should knock and go in.
Time slowly ticked by. Catherine Callahan, still standing there, suddenly slumped to the floor.
'She knew exactly what was happening in there. She had seen Nora Ainsworth walk from the front gate to Quentin Grant's bedroom with her own eyes. She'd assumed Quentin would yell at Nora and throw her out, but so much time had passed, and she still hadn't come out.'
She was overcome with the urge to slice Nora Ainsworth to death, one cut at a time.
