A sharp pain shot through Autumn Shelby's scalp. Before she could even cry out, a slap from Sarah Shelby followed.
"Autumn Shelby, stop your vicious slander! Do you think that by spreading malicious rumors about Clara's identity, Seth Quinn will abandon her and get back together with you? In your dreams!"
That loud slap snapped the stunned Evan Shelby and Yvette Zimmerman out of their stupor. Reacting instantly, Yvette shrieked and lunged forward to rescue her daughter.
She then slapped Sarah across the face. "Sarah Shelby, who the hell do you think you are, daring to hit my daughter! We were kind enough to let you and your mother into the Shelby family, and this is how you repay us? The family is in crisis, and instead of helping your own, you attack your sister for an outsider! Do you have no respect for your father? Do you even see yourself as one of us?"
