Upon seeing Timothy Sterling, a smile appeared on Jameson Valerius's face. "Ah, Mr. Sterling, you've arrived. My apologies. As the groom's family, we really should have been the ones to visit you first."
Jameson Valerius said as much, but from the moment Timothy Sterling and his family had walked in, he hadn't made any move to stand and greet them. He remained seated on the sofa, his tone completely formulaic. It was clear Jameson Valerius didn't think much of the Sterling Family; his words were nothing but hollow pleasantries.
"Not at all. There's no need for such formalities between our families." This was the first time Timothy Sterling had met Jameson Valerius in person. 'He's about the same age as my own mother, yet he's my daughter's future father-in-law. It feels quite strange.'
"Have all our guests from the Sterling Family arrived?" a delicate voice called out. It was Jameson Valerius's wife, Nancy Nash, descending the stairs with a sinuous grace.
