Timothy Sterling's words made her expressionless face falter for a second, but she quickly regained her composure. "What do you really want to talk about? If it's just this, then there's no need for us to continue. It's meaningless. I couldn't care less about your so-called paternal instincts."
Besides, ordinary dangers couldn't threaten her. And the dangers that *could* threaten her were not something Timothy Sterling could stop.
Timothy Sterling knew this well. "I know you look down on me. I saw what you can do last night. You don't need my protection; you don't need protection from a useless father. But, my child, it breaks my heart to see you like this, you know? For all these years, we thought you were dead. Your mother fell gravely ill because of your death, and her health has been fragile ever since. If only... if only we had known you were alive, what a happy family we would have been!"
