The fact that Joanna Jacobs had snatched the gun from Troy King's hand was somewhat unexpected for Liam Valerius, but it all made perfect sense.
Things had completely gone off the rails, not at all according to Joanna Jacobs's original plan. She had wanted to win over Damien Valerius, but ended up "killing" him instead.
Although she looked down on Liam Valerius, she knew she had no other choice now. Without Damien Valerius to rely on, she could only temporarily depend on Liam.
And Liam was a petty and suspicious man. In the past, she had even helped Damien do many things to keep Liam in check.
'This man is so vindictive, he'd even kill his own father. There's no guarantee I won't become a thorn in his side in the future.'
Therefore, to prove her sincerity to Liam Valerius, Joanna Jacobs had no choice but to be the one to shoot Jameson Valerius, taking on the task no one else was willing to do.
