Laura Lowell awkwardly tucked a few stray strands of hair behind her ear, her mind a complete mess.
'What on earth is Aiden Shaw trying to do?'
'Their relationship was fake to begin with. She couldn't just go around flaunting a fake boyfriend, could she?'
"Did your parents send you on this blind date?"
When Laura Lowell didn't answer, Aiden Shaw asked again.
Laura Lowell pressed her lips together and gave a slight nod. "I didn't know Mr. Dutton was your friend."
"I think I need to go meet your parents. To stop you from cheating on me again."

Laura Lowell's eyes widened as she stared at him. "Aiden Shaw, what are you trying to do?"
"Visit your parents, of course. To make sure this doesn't happen again."
Aware that someone else was present, Laura Lowell deliberately lowered her voice. "Dr. Shaw, our relationship is fake. You can't come to my house."
