Nancy stood in the hospital lobby, phone in hand, about to call Aiden Shaw. Tears streamed down her delicate, pretty face.
Aiden Shaw was walking quickly and didn't notice the people around him.
Laura Lowell, however, who was walking behind him, spotted Nancy right away. Seeing her crying so sorrowfully, she couldn't help but approach. "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
Hearing the voice, Nancy looked up. The fingers resting on her phone screen clenched into a tight fist.
"You're the one who caused all this! If anything happens to my best friend, I'll fight you to the death."
Nancy's voice was shrill and grating, and everyone around them instinctively turned to look.
Aiden Shaw stopped in his tracks, turning around with a slight frown. "Nancy, you are not to yell at her."
'He didn't ask for a reason, didn't ask who was right or wrong. The first thing he did was forbid me from yelling at this woman.'
