"If my son gets hurt or even scared, I'll make your life a living hell."
The child's cries were like a lit fuse, reigniting the emotions Dylan Zane had struggled to suppress.
"Cut the crap. Put Laura Lowell on the phone."
Dylan Zane put the phone on speaker and handed it to Laura Lowell in the back seat. "She wants to talk to you."
Laura Lowell took the phone, glanced at Aiden Shaw, and then spoke. "I'm in Mr. Alden's car right now. I'm your target, so don't hurt the child."
A wild, sinister laugh suddenly erupted from the receiver, a piercing sound that was grating to the ears. "Laura Lowell, I knew you'd come. Being kidnapped, helpless at someone else's mercy... it doesn't feel good, does it?"
"Cut the crap. Send me the address."
Laura's annoyed voice trailed off. She had no desire to waste her breath on this madwoman.
"In such a hurry to die, are you? Fine, I'll grant your wish. I'll make sure you die by my hand today."
