Chapter 35 - Chapter 31: Night Exploration

The next day, after finishing his Morning Practice, Zhao Rui drove to Tian Yaru's house.

When he arrived, the young lady was still snuggled up in her large, luxurious bed, sleeping in. In her world, waking up early on vacation was an impossibility.

A maid opened the door and led Zhao Rui into the living room to wait.

Half an hour later, Tian Yaru finally emerged, wearing a set of light pajamas with a face completely free of makeup.

Her delicate, petite features and soft facial lines were still smooth and fine without a trace of makeup, giving her a unique charm.

A young woman's natural tenderness was far more captivating than the manufactured beauty of cosmetics and concealer.

The girl rubbed her sleepy eyes, glanced at her watch, and said lazily, "Brother Rui, why are you here so early today?"

"Didn't you want to go out? I asked Aunt Song for a two-hour break so I can take you out for a bit to relax."

Zhao Rui, sitting on the sofa, picked up a fresh, juicy peach, took a bite, and spoke with clear enjoyment.

"Yay! Hehe, I knew choosing you as my tutor was the right decision, Brother Rui."

The girl's face broke into a radiant smile. She spun around and dashed toward the bathroom, calling out as she ran, "Give me ten minutes!"

Zhao Rui grunted in acknowledgment and continued eating his peach. This variety of peach wasn't sold in regular supermarkets or at small stalls; you had to go to a specialty fruit shop to find them.

They cost dozens of yuan per jin—an absolute luxury.

Zhao Rui had been a tutor for nearly ten days. He hadn't done much work, but he'd certainly enjoyed his share of good food.

Ten minutes later, a happy-looking Tian Yaru walked over, all ready to go, with a touch of light makeup on.

"Let's go!"

"Aren't you going to eat breakfast?"

"I'll skip it. I'm not hungry. Time is short and the mission is critical! I'll eat when we get back!"

"Alright!"

For a young woman who had been cooped up at home for the entire vacation, getting to go out and have fun was the most urgent thing in the world.

As soon as the two of them stepped out the door, the family chauffeur pulled up in an Audi sedan.

After they got in, Zhao Rui said to the driver, "To Heluo Park."

Heluo Park was a comprehensive recreational park in Lin City, a place for leisure, entertainment, and sports all in one.

It not only hosted regular sports competitions but also concerts, dance shows, and other artistic performances put on by various amateur groups.

It was extremely popular with the city's residents.

This was the spot he and Tian Yaru had agreed to visit.

The drive to Heluo Park took less than half an hour. Before the chauffeur could even find a parking spot, an eager Tian Yaru had already hopped out of the car.

"Don't go too wild, or I'll have some explaining to do when we get back."

Seeing the eager young lady, Zhao Rui quickly caught up to her and added a word of caution.

"No problem! I want to check this out!"

With that, the young lady took off running toward a Kaman Exhibition on the side and dove right in.

Zhao Rui shook his head and followed close behind.

A moment later, the girl, now dressed in a Cardcaptor Sakura costume, poked her head out of the fitting room. "Can you Martial Artists see through things?" she asked Zhao Rui.

Zhao Rui shot her a glare and said irritably, "Yes, we can. Don't bother changing."

"Huh? For real?"

The girl clutched her chest, her elegant eyes narrowing. Then, she pursed her lips and said, "Whatever. After all those days at home, you've probably seen everything anyway. I don't care!"

"..."

Zhao Rui was stunned. Just as he was about to explain, he saw the girl flash a mischievous grin before ducking back into the fitting room.

This kind of Kaman Exhibition offered a simple role-playing experience where visitors could pay to rent an anime character costume and join the event.

"How about this one?"

A moment later, a Hatsune Warrior appeared before Zhao Rui, dressed in a futuristic costume. With her hair in two long pigtails and her cheeks flushed like peach blossoms, she stood before him.

The form-fitting costume perfectly showcased her figure—not yet fully mature, but already beautifully developed.

"It's great!"

"You should change into one too!"

"I'm not changing!"

"Come on!"

Ten minutes later, Zhao Rui found himself walking into the crowd behind "Hatsune Miku." He was dressed in a simple, traditional long robe, holding a folded fan, looking like a refined young scholar, but his face was completely expressionless.

"I'll tell you a secret. There's a girl in my class who has a crush on Zhao Ke!"

Tian Yaru skipped along, in an exceptionally good mood.

Although her parents would sometimes take her out, it was usually to places like public squares or shopping malls.

They would certainly never let her do something like cosplay!

She was simply returning the favor; the young lady was quite considerate.

"It's not you, is it?"

Zhao Rui said offhandedly.

"Of course not!"

Tian Yaru had colorful stickers pasted below her eyes. They shifted as she squinted, making her already bright eyes look even more lively and beautiful.

"I like someone who can protect me."

Little stars seemed to sparkle in Tian Yaru's eyes as she clearly drifted off into a fantasy about some heartthrob.

"Just like you!"

The girl suddenly looked at Zhao Rui, her words startling.

"COUGH! COUGH!"

Zhao Rui's face flushed red. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the young lady burst into a fit of giggles. "Just kidding!"

Then, her expression suddenly turned serious. "You don't have any ideas about me, do you? I'm your little brother's classmate, you know!"

Zhao Rui's cheek twitched.

'What is with kids these days? What on earth goes through their minds all day?'

He immediately raised his folded fan and tapped her on the head. With a deadpan expression, he said, "I'm not into little kids."

Tian Yaru's eyes instantly narrowed, a cold glint flashing within them. "Waaaah, I'll get you for that!"

Zhao Rui placed a hand on the girl's little head, letting her arms windmill wildly without being able to touch him in the slightest.

As the two of them horsed around, the parade procession passed through the center of the park and arrived at a bustling square.
