Joy nodded sensibly, and only then did Jean Coleman leave, albeit reluctantly. Even though she had lost the man she loved most when she was young, having such an adorable and well-behaved grandson and granddaughter with her in her later years made her feel that she had no regrets in this life.
Jean Coleman's words sent a pang of sadness through Naomi Shaw's heart. Perhaps Jean had only said it out of fondness for her, but it filled Naomi with immense guilt. If not for all that had happened, she would be calling Jean "Mom" as a matter of course right now. If not for all that had happened, they would be a whole, complete family.
They were reunited now, but their reunion wasn't perfect.
The single loose end was her.
