"I've decided."
Chloe Hollis nodded without hesitation. "I want to major in foreign languages," she added. "I'll work as a translator after graduation."
The young woman's smile was full of hope for the future—clean and pure.
"Translation is a good field. The job market is strong, so it won't be hard to find work if you study well."
Holly Winslow looked at her and said half-jokingly, "You won't give up halfway this time, will you?"
Chloe Hollis smiled, a little embarrassed, and shook her head firmly. "I won't."
"Today, I saw a lot of people in our class crying. It made me suddenly understand what you told me: the harder you work, the less you'll have to regret."
Seeing that Chloe had truly grasped this, Holly Winslow smiled sincerely and held out her hand. "Then shall we pinky-promise?"
Chloe Hollis looked at her for a few seconds before linking her pinky. "Okay. Pinky-promise, cross my heart, hope to die. I, Chloe Hollis, will definitely study hard."
