"Why'd you bring so much back with you?"
Irene Lynch was in the kitchen preparing dinner. When she saw the little ones' pockets stuffed to the brim, she couldn't help but ask out of curiosity.
Grace Winslow recounted what had just happened, and Irene Lynch couldn't help but laugh. "Oh my, those old ladies are usually so stingy. They hide that candy away and only bring it out when their grandchildren come home. Now you kids have managed to charm it all out of them."
"Tomorrow, take some of our homemade snacks and local specialties as a return gift. We can't just take their things for free."
Grace Winslow smiled and nodded. "I know, Mom. I'll take them a gift tomorrow."
"Is dinner ready yet? I'm starving."
As she spoke, she reached out, grabbed a piece of meat, and popped it in her mouth.
Irene Lynch slapped her hand lightly. "You're a grown woman! Why are you still so greedy? Your niece and nephews are watching. Aren't you ashamed?"
