Ashley Bowen shook her head. "It's just... there were so many people today, I'm tired."
"When Vivian finishes her bath, you wash up and go to bed too. And don't use cold water, it's bad for you. You don't want it to cause health problems that could make it harder to have a baby," Mary Preston advised, a smile suddenly gracing her lips. "Shay, this is a sweater I knitted for your future baby. Since I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, I chose white and a duckling yellow. I thought it would work for either."
As she spoke, Mary Preston unfolded the small sweater to show Ashley Bowen.
The little sweater was only about a quarter the size of an adult's. With its tiny sleeves and body, it was so adorable you just wanted to snatch it up for a hug and a kiss.
A warmth spread through Ashley Bowen's heart as she looked at it. She immediately hugged Mary Preston, so touched she was on the verge of tears. "Thank you, Mom. You're so good to me."
