Jenson swept her up by the waist. She screamed in alarm, burying her head in his chest.
Once they were in his office, Jenson carried her to the guest sofa and laid her down. His hands went to her collar, ready to take off her white blouse.
Just as Jenson was about to get his way, Summer suddenly grabbed his hand. "Jenson, I... I'm not ready."
"It's okay, it's okay. I was being too hasty." Jenson awkwardly pulled his hand back and sat up. Still feeling awkward, he scrambled to his feet and walked over to the water cooler. "Tea or coffee?"
"Um, coffee, please." Summer tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, equally embarrassed. 'I shouldn't have stopped things just now.'
'For some reason, though, she felt a barrier in her heart.'
Jenson returned with two cups of coffee. He set one down in front of Summer and began gulping down the other himself.
Watching him drink coffee as if it were water, Summer quickly urged, "Slow down. Isn't it hot?"
