Joan Shaw steeled herself and made a decision. She had expected the twisted man to make things difficult for her immediately, but to her surprise, his words were full of concern.
"Focus on getting better first. That's an order."
"Tch. I don't need you to order me around. I'll get better on my own. If I don't take care of my own body, you think I'm going to rely on you to do it?" Joan Shaw picked up a pillow, hugged it to her chest, and shot Miles Xavier a sideways glance.
Miles Xavier rose, his hands suddenly gripping her shoulders. "You seem to be in good spirits. Your body must be all better, right? How about we go for a round?"
"You! I'm not better! It still hurts."
"Where does it hurt?"
"Pervert!" 'He knows exactly what he's asking!'
The corner of Miles Xavier's mouth lifted in a faint smile. He straightened up, but just as he did, a commotion erupted outside.
