Over the next three hours, Joan Shaw wandered through a department store, casually buying a few things with her card.
She glanced at her watch. She had arranged to meet Finn Norris at KFC at twelve.
It was ten minutes to twelve.
She was well aware that the bodyguards were following her to keep her under surveillance. If Finn Norris showed up, they would probably beat him savagely.
"Caleb, can you do me one last favor?"
Caleb Adler's brow furrowed, but he couldn't bring himself to refuse. Although he had feelings for her and wanted to see her every day, he couldn't stand seeing how unhappy she was with the Xavier family. He decided to risk it all and help her.
