'How did Anna know I was here?'
'Could she be here about the job transfer?'
She was just about to get up from her seat when Anna beat her to it, dropping to her knees with a THUD right in front of them.
"I'm so sorry, Nate. He knows he was wrong. Please be the bigger person and forgive him."
Anna's first words completely floored Nate Jennings. 'What in the world is going on?'
She stared blankly at the man across from her. He calmly picked up his lemonade and took a sip, acting as if this had nothing to do with him.
She quickly rose to her feet and tried to help Anna up. "Anna, what are you doing? Please get up."
But Anna kept her head bowed, stubbornly refusing to stand. Howard had originally intended for Jasper to come to the hotel and apologize to Nate Jennings in person.
But who was Jasper? His world revolved around him and him alone. He would never bow and scrape for anyone. Getting him to admit fault would be more difficult than killing him.
